Parents have been saying all summer the ONLY thing they want teachers teaching their kids are reading, math, and science.

But I get it. She should have resigned as a teacher. But with these salaries and with these demands, you're going to have a lot fewer people wanting to be teachers. It's not worth it.

AGAIN YOU NOT OFF BASE, I understand where you coming from.

But You can't brush all parents together.

Especially with this critical race bullshit.

I can speak as someone who has taught, been on PTA/PTO, community boards etc.

Most parents just want a GOOD teacher.

Cause if they are good and passionate and committed? You going to trust them.

Cause school is and never supposed to be just about teaching math etc.

It's about building a good PERSON

And that involves talking about politics and sex.

But in terms they understand not lying to them and not exposing them to too much too soon.

it's not even a school thing.

A college student with an only fans would be harassed

So would a member of the school board, pta, security guard, cafeterias etc etc.

It's the world we live in.

But I am saying we hold them to a higher standard for a reason.
And that if they cannot live up to that standard, then perhaps they should've either never taken up the profession or they should leave the profession to pursue something else...:dunno:

This is a poor comparison.

We are on this site completely anonymously DISCUSSING things.

She, on the other hand, was POSTING NAKED PICTURES OF HERSELF PUBLICLY on OnlyFans with her face showing.

Two completely different circumstances.

That was where she was irresponsible as a teacher of children. Had she not been showing her face, she most likely would still have a job.

Kid was probably was on a pornsite and somebody had downloaded some of her vids and uploaded them there and he just happened to see them, that's how people found out 2 women I work with had Onlyfans, sometimes you just come up on things. I used to work with this woman who always talked about how her daughter had just gotten out the Army and was going to do all these big things, I was on Instagram one day just clicking on pics, came up on some Atlanta Magic City stripper pics and her daughter was in some of the pics...lol

I have kids and I honestly wouldn't care about their teacher being an adult entertainer. As long as they aren't promoting their content to the students, it's non of my business what someone does in their personal life. It's different if your outside habits can potentially impact my kid. If you are talking about a teacher acting inappropriately in class or while interacting with the kids, that is totally different.

If I had teenage children, it's my responsibility as a parent to teach them to have respect for people regardless of their beliefs or profession. It could be a bum on the street and I wouldn't approve of my child being disrespectful. Their teacher being in porn would not be an excuse for their bad behavior in class. If somehow they can't take the teacher seriously and find themselves failing the class, they can have fun repeating the class the following year. Their teacher's outside behavior has nothing to do with them learning and I'm holding them accountable for their failure. Now obviously if the teacher sucks as an educator in general that is different.

Also, what was unethical about having an Onlyfans account or sex work in general? I highly doubt this was mentioned to be against school policy. The closes thing would likely be language around directly representing the school with regards to social media. also I don't see what commitment to education has to do with her outside interest? Unless it's a religious school, her morality shouldn't come into question as far as this issue is concerned.

If I had to guess, it's the adults behavior around her that is or could have become an issue. We are hearing about this happening to women regardless of if they work with kids or not. If you don't want sex workers in your organization, just say that and stop using kids as an excuse.
