The Coach Prime Effect in College Basketball?

Coach Prime! Deion! Can any basketball player former or current can bring that same swagger to college basketball?

I couldn't think of anyone. I briefly considered the members of the Fab 5, but Juwan Howard is already a coach.

Chris Paul is the only one I can see doing that but it will take a top 5 recruit for him to do it. The fact that he has had a top notch AAU program for years helps.

yes just has to be the right situation

But the person has to be a leader among leaders…

Who that person is idk

Coach Prime, was Neon Deion who been Prime Time…. And he’s done a host of things that contribute to the Coach Prime Effect

If Lebron coached, I am sure he gets the top recruits
Maybe Lebron if that’s what he wanted to do?

Larry Brown sorta did it when he coached SMU here in Dallas for a few years.
That was the hottest ticket in town for a while. Long lines....people camping out for tickets. They were hard to get.

Its more the sport than the person. Not saying this effect isnt cause of Coach Prime, Im just saying College Football is a bigger sport than College Basketball. Coach Reed (before he clowned the school that hired him)....wouldve got a lot of shine just like Coach Prime if he has his school doing as good as Prime had Jackson State. But Im not getting it twisted, If Coach Prime never had Jackson State ballin out, this wouldnt even be a topic.

But like someone else said, honestly there isnt anyone that could come into college ball and have the same effect as Prime. Penny is probably the closest thing to a Coach Prime BBall wise.

and I think in order for a college bball coach to get the same shine, they would have to take a long shot as school to AT LEAST the Elite 8 or Final 4 or some ish and THEN get hired by a school like USC (a school that isnt known for the bball program but can get ranked quick if they ball out. Haha)

The biggest stars are the people with the most charisma combined w/ winning and talent.

They live a certain flamboyant lifestyle and live it all the time.

I put Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, Deion Sanders. Ali, Lebron to an extent, and a few others that I can't think of now.

They are people that embrace the media and social media.

Google Walt Frazier in terms of fashion and style, it's on par with Deion......his 1970s style was GOAT NBA Style...

Better?

Get Some of the best talent ever year and remain consistently good.

But you got it, our beliefs are different.

I dunno if duke is a good example. Everybody knows they had some horrendously bad officiating go their way. All. The. Time.

It's okay to disagree but two things can be true also.

It would be easier IMO. Less players and players are used to moving between teams. I’ve seen AAU and High School Basketball teams go from garbage to champions in one year due to a coach coming with better players. 3 star players can change a whole team in Basketball.

It was supposed to be Penny at Memphis, he had the recruiting part down but just didn't win at the expected level

Harder in college because you compete against the G League and OTE

Car Salesman Cal is the closest thing

I think CP3 would be too abrasive for kids.
