I'm still watching, I'm a wrestling fan, i wastch just about everything. I want AEW to thrive because pro wrestling needs competitive companies to bring out the best in each other.

Brother, some of us was saying that all along...Wrestling do good when they have two or more successful wrestling companies out there together!!..

AEW and WWE are going to do fine and keep bring out wrestling fans!!..

Unlike the EVPs in AEW, the top brass in WWE won't stay in their feelings and will be willing to do business with someone they've had beef with in the past if they can make them money. They've done it with Brett Hart and the Ultimate Warrior.
Ultimately, it will come down to whether WWE feels like Punk is still a big draw and can make them money.

People take wrestling way too seriously. The saying that nobody hates wrestling more than wrestling fans is all too true. Multiple people take about hate watching WWE and they're done watching AEW let they're posting about AEW than anyone else. And saying that AEW is going to be out of business in a few years is lame because the business needs alternatives and more jobs are great for everyone point blank. Once Arrow fell off I stopped going into the thread to talk about it. Sure this is a general wrestling thread but it's not hard to scroll pass posts.
I agree that the wrestling business is always best when there are alternatives and especially when there is a strong #2 business pushing WWE or even beating them.
However, I've seen too many management (or lack thereof) issues coming out of AEW in their short history that has me worried about their long-term survivability.
I'm not wishing death to AEW by any means, but I'm just not confident right now about them lasting in the long-term at this rate.
Getting rid of CM Punk will not fix all the issues with lack of leadership at the top.

Well it's a start in the right direction. Firing someone who the network made the face of the Saturday TV show and indefinitely suspending a "pillar " of AEW says the message that anyone can get the work.

As much as certain individuals think that Vince didn't let guys get away with shit that's a lie. Hogan, The Kliq, and God knows who else got away with doing bad business.

Punk is just flat out a cancer in the locker room. Firing Punk will hurt AEW in the short term but it was the right decision. A couple weeks ago Collision had one of their highest episodes because thr MJF and Adam Cole pairing has been entertaining. I wanted Punk to work out just like everyone else, but it's kinda like when you get a player on your favorite sports team and have high hopes for that player to only shit the bed. Punk went to AEW as a veteran with multiple injuries, disrupted the chemistry, and overall wasn't a good fit.

If you actually listen to Mark Henry's quote on Busted Open (which I did), he's saying that he's skeptical that Punk was the problem.
He even classifies it as "the so-called problem".
I'm sure Mark sees all the same problems in AEW that others do, but he's collecting a check from the money mark to basically do nothing so he's not going to be critical.
The only people who felt Punk was a "cancer" in the locker room were the Elite (and their buddies) and Chris Jericho.

Punk got along with pretty much everyone else in the locker room.

Love this presentation of Nakamura. Lolz he looks like The Shredder from the first TMNT film without the helmet.....

People refuse to hear and comprehend this tho....

Lolz Mark is basically saying, you got rid of the "problem".... so there shouldn't be any issues moving forward, knowing full well there will be something else in the future....

I'm confused, why is everyone acting like AEW is the first promotion to ever deal with backstage bullshit? Every promotion deals with it. But this WWE fans vs AEW fans is the same toxic bullshit as console wars.

I grew up watching WWF but I didn't wish or hoped their competition folded. Shit is like Madden with the exclusive NFL license, that game wouldn't be utter shit if EA had competition from the NFL2K series.

There is always going to be backstage bullshit. The difference is the way it's handled backstage.

AEW doesn't seem to have a real locker room leader nor a boss that is willing to put talent in place.

WWE, for all their issues in the past, has had that for the most part.

But for all the shit people like to throw at the Elite, the Kliq was running WWE and going into business for themselves all the time and if they were really running AEW like many believe, they're not losing to FTR for the titles. Even with locker room leaders in WWE, you had a ton of messy shit that happened there but again, that's with any business where egos are involved.

Vince did let Scott Hall and Kevin Nash walk. He also let The 123 Kid go.

Vince also punished Triple H for the "Curtain Call"....so as far as The Kliq running WWF and going to business for themselves, it only lasted but so long and there is/was a clear Boss.

Additionally, the WWF/E had a locker room leader in the Undertaker to handle talent issues.

I'm trying to look at it objectively because I'm a fan of all of wrestling. My issue is, how people are looking at the situation and blaming one person for all of it, because of their personal dislike, (which again, makes no sense) as if there isn't a picture of cause and effect for the over all situation.

But do you think they had that in year 4 of the promotion?

A real Boss or a locker room leader who demanded the respect the Undertaker had?

No. Instead they have three EVP's who do victory laps in the ring after their top-selling talent is fired.

I get that but at the same time, Punk has thrown hissy fits and burned bridges wherever he's left. Not saying he's the ONLY problem AEW had/has but with the shit he's done prior to AEW, he doesn't get the benefit of doubt at this point in my opinion.

The AEW problem was an avoidable issue, it was petty shit that the owner allowed to spiral out of control. A lot of Punks shit from the past had been acknowledged. This wasn't about burning bridges. You had people who didn't want him there, and they went out of their way to create a problem.

People keep talking about what Punk did in the past prior to AEW, basically meaning his exit from WWE.
Looking back on that, did Punk really do anything wrong when he left WWE?
Almost all the things he brought up at the time proved to be legit in the end and some of those issues in WWE have now been corrected.

Funny how all the folks that hate Punk now were on his side back then when he debuted in AEW when he was shitting on WWE management.

Just like the people who thought HHH was just the doofus son-in-law because Punk said so, and then he ended up being WWE's savior from Vince and now they want Punk to work for him.

It's almost like people's circumstances and perspectives change with time.

I hate to say it but yeah they are on the verge of jumping the shark. Sure it was hard to follow the Sami/Kevin story, but the last few weeks have been kind of random. Almost like new writers for the storyline took over

They have bled this bloodline storyline dry and now they're simply trying to keep it going for the sake of keeping it going. Friends of mine who are big WWE marks are bored with the bloodline shit. They've lost interest. This is nWo all over again. You catch lighting in a bottle with something great then you run it into the ground and have no plan B.

Different time, Vince was in control of that place from jump, plus he had a staff of old schoolers that were not about the bullshit.
I don't get why people keep comparing a promotion that has 70+ year history to one that's 5 years old. Not to say AEW couldn't learn a thing or two by studying WWE. But this expectation that everything should be running smooth is crazy. Hell WWE still have hiccups from time to time.

I'm agree with you on this!!..I was sayin this a for while now!!..

Impact has been around over 20 years. Outside of the Samoa Joe/Kevin Nash incident, they haven't had anything close to the backstage drama AEW seems to be having.
