Did anybody play NFL Gameday (as opposed to Madden, 2K, QB Club) back in the day?

I remember NFL GameDay 1998 being a big deal when it was released in 1998 because it was so much more graphically better than Madden 98

They followed it up with Gameday 99 which I remember being very well received

Yeah I fucked with GameDay until 2k changed the game!
The game definitely got left behind once we moved to the PS2 era because I don't remember paying attention to it after GameDay 99 and from what I've read the game got progressively worse once they moved to the PS2 era.

Some were saying that GameDay 2004 was a step in the right direction but that was when EA got exclusive NFL rights and stopped 989 and eventually San Diego Studio from being able to build on what they did in 2004. Picture an NFL game with the quality of MLB the Show

Yup then 2K came and revolutionized football games. Then madden got jealous and bought the rights and ruined football gaming forever. FUCK EA , FUCK MADDEN AND FUCK GOODELL FOR ALLOWING NO COMPETITION. YOU FAGGOT!!!!

I was fucking with the PS2 Emulator and was shocked at the fact that between 2000-2004 you could choose between

- Madden
- 2K
- Quarterback Club
- GameDay
- Fever (Xbox Exclusive)
- Blitz
- Primetime

To tell the truth, by the time we got to the PS2/Xbox/GC era, Madden and 2K were your best bets. The rest were average to wack and Blitz was something else entirely but the point was, at any given time those other games could go a different route and try something new and shake up the industry and that's the type of shit that kept the sports landscape fresh back then.

And that's not including the college football games that EA and 2k put out.
