Deion Sanders' Amazon Prime series being shot on Colorado's campus

Coach Prime's docuseries deal gives major exposure for university

If you wanted to see the continuation of 'Coach Prime' on Amazon, it's now a reality at the University of Colorado. The SMAC Entertainment group based in Los Angeles was recently on campus shooting scenes for a docuseries syndicated through the major streaming provider.

Colorado chancellor Phil DiStefano and Sanders’ business manager, Constance Schwartz-Morini, the co-founder of SMAC Productions, entered into a contract to feature Sanders and the Buffs football program, according to USA TODAY. The series will give an unprecedented look into Coach Prime's first year in Boulder but will be produced differently from past seasons at Jackson State.

Colorado vs. No. 17 TCU: First half highlights

"The access and participation from the school and the students will showcase real-time moments of turning a football program around while bringing global exposure to the University of Colorado," a rep from SMAC told USA TODAY.

With Sanders, CU has experienced an uptick of media involvement, along with record-breaking ticket and merchandise sales. It's part of the 'Prime Effect' that has hit campus and beyond prior to the start of the season. The trio of Well Off Media, Reach the People, and Thee Pregame Show have covered the Buffs as a lead up to the opener with TCU. However, the Prime feature will be a more "manufactured look and less raw" from a production standpoint.

CU's athletic department will have weekly meetings with SMAC productions to ensure both sides are being represented fairly. It's more for compliance with NCAA rules and laws, which aren't expected to come into play that often.

The contract for the docuseries states "Colorado has the right to request removal of any footage that a reasonable person would deem portrays CU, its students, faculty, and/or staff in an extremely negative manner and is damaging to the value of the university brand." DiStefano and CU also have the option to extend production past the end of 2023, if they deem the series is successful in representing the university.

Overall, it is a great collaboration for the Sanders family, CU athletics, and SMAC Entertainment, which gives fans an ultimate value.

Colorado ended the 2022 football season with a 1-11 record. Sanders took the world by storm after he left Jackson State in December of last year. A sold-out CU Black-Gold Spring Game with an ESPN broadcast, along with a full season ticket sell out (students include) for the first time since 1996.

Sanders' FBS debut comes outside his old stomping ground in Fort Worth, Texas vs. 17th-ranked TCU on Sept. 2. The first of a back-to-back feature on FOX's Big Noon Saturday.

The Buffs defense won’t stop anyone all year. That’s why it will be so hard to predict wins for them.

They are tiny upfront on defense and will need to find a running game or teams will make passing difficult for them
Yup, the defensive line is the problem. Matter of fact, Nebraska will run the ball and test their D-Line next week.

If you ever watch football pundits it is clear that Deion (and Michael Irving) is a genius level football player because not only does he have the tactical know how, more importantly, he has the talent for recognizing skill/potential. The reason that matters is because if football isn't about anything else it's about matchups. The ability to execute the plays being called overshadows tactics in play calling.

Prime was able to assemble a heck of a coaching staff as well. It takes vision, and organization to do what he’s done.

That was so FUCKING impressive, man. No way did I believe this team would win this game. Did I think Shedeur would look good? Yes. But knowing they were lacking on the O and D lines...I just couldn't see them competing quite this high. I had them winning 5-6 games and going to a lower bowl game. But it's clear their ceiling can be a little higher. They're going to run up against some buzz saws but man...I'm happy to see the way this team has responded and how well Deion put that portal to use. He put the entire college football world on notice. This was an awesome fucking game.

I think Edwards was a magician out there today. If the run isnt working they can keep doing those little screen/ option/ shuttle passes to him behind the line and let him work. That 75 yard "run" was like watching Barry on Detroit......

If these kids in Colorado can stay healthy, Deion has some fucking stars on the field that NFL scouts will be loving.....

Good game, congrats Prime.
Defense sucks though
TCU runs it up against ranked teams this was 2022

They were unranked until week 4 when they put up 55 against #18 Oklahoma, 43 against #8 Oklahoma state, and 51 against #2 Michigan....

They put up 42 against unranked Colorado and LOST!

One of the things folks don’t understand is, the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach… don’t necessarily want those pepper gut up front….
They want shifty guys that can block run and get down field and block at the 3rd level…

So it’s kinda likw back in the day when the Broncos had mostly lineman in the 270-290 range… for their zone block scheme…
(If I’m completely off the mark with weight, my bad but y’all get the point)

Now for as the defensive line…. Those big boy that clog the middle ain’t that plentiful.
Coach Kelly said he’d love to have two or three of them but they ain’t out that like that.

When that huge DT left Georgia, they went talk to him but USC had the dollars plus he wanted to be in Cali

Great post

Shilo said a few things:

- they knew after the first drive they was going to win

- they played 5/10 so the other teams on schedule get ready

- saying they would get a 50 piece was just stupid

- he gotta correct some things

Do y'all realize Prime did all this for his boys?

He's coached them from little league to now. Every move was calculated for their benefit, made sure they had both a genuine black experience and a shot at big-time ball.

Prime is legendary. Praying he do these PWI's like he did Andre

“Deion Sanders can do anything he wants to build his program,” Corso said. “I just don’t agree with his tactics.“

Corso cited how when he took over college programs at Indiana, Louisville and Northern Illinois he made it a priority to keep as many players from the previous coaches’ programs. Sanders took a different route with more than 60 different players on this season’s roster compared to the 2022 Colorado team.

Tell me why you’re really mad….:hmm:

Shedeur Sanders throws for school-record 510 yards, 4 TDs in debut

Shedeur Sanders gets Colorado off to a winning start by throwing for 510 yards in his debut.
Deion Sanders' overhaul of the Colorado Buffaloes has been one of the biggest stories of the offseason. Sanders arrived in Boulder from Jackson State with superstars -- namely QB Shedeur Sanders, his son, and the do-everything Travis Hunter -- alongside him. The mystery and hype were real.

On Saturday, we finally got to see what these Buffs would look like as they faced the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs, last year's national runner-up. The game was eye-opening as Shedeur Sanders broke CU's single-game passing yardage record in his first start. He threw for 510 yards and four touchdowns, and Dylan Edwards had 159 total yards and four scores in Colorado's 45-42 win in Fort Worth.

The win caught the attention of several pro athletes.

Hunter, a former five-star recruit, barely left the field on Saturday. He played 129 total snaps and had 11 catches for 119 yards. On defense, he had three tackles and an interception. The third-quarter pick ended a potential scoring drive for TCU. Basketball Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett summed up his performance nicely.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. even suggested that his brother, Florida Gators running back Trevor Etienne, might need a new home.

Coach Prime said they was gonna win by 14…
