When General Motors in 2021 unveiled its Cadillac Celestiq with a price tag of $300,000, it aimed to catch the eye of the ultrarich.

Available only by individual order and requiring what the company describes as a "significant deposit," the handmade vehicle is a significant step up from GM's other EV offering, the Lyriq.

But on Aug. 4 reports said that $300K wasn't quite enough for admittance to this exclusive club. According to a tweet from Twin Birch co-owner Sawyer Merritt, the starting price of the vehicle is $340,000.

Naturally, the vehicle offers strong specs for the price. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and boasts 600 horsepower and 649 pound-feet of torque. Each vehicle will be built at the General Motors Artisan Center in Warren, Mich., and only six will be built at a time. There are tons of high-end customization options, too -- which, naturally, will drive up the price tag.

While it's not the most expensive EV on the market -- that honor belongs to the Aspark Owl at $3.5 million -- the Celestiq certainly ranks as GM's most expensive car.

And pricewise it competes with Rolls Royce's Spectre, which was announced in October 2022 and is due out in late 2023.

GM has committed to going all-electric by 2030.

I wasn't trippin on the extra 40k because things happen with actual production and development etc.

But an extra 40k before options?

I was thinking 300k was the total.

Regardless, if you were willing to pay 300k what's an extra 100k? :D
Most mofos that got the loot/credit needed to buy this aren't worried about a thing

:dunno:

I dont think its bad lookin, looks kinda dope

but for a chick kinda dope.... maybe in person

it wouldnt look so feminine... maybe its the color,

tho

This is ridiculous for a Cadillac, after options and taxes you're over $400K?!....that's like that damn Phaeton that VW came out with, no one wanted to pay $100K for a VW car 15 years ago.....

The lucid sapphire is about $300K fully loaded and after taxes......1,200 horses, 0-60 under 2 secs, 0-100 under 4 secs......

This is gonna be a stretch

Who in the fuck do they think is going to pay all of that money for them cars?Bill Gates?

Come down out of the clouds and back down to earth where everyone is.

Rubbing my hands for my order of a CT5V blackwing with a manual transmission. Cadillac hasn't accepted my order yet because the color coastal blue metallic is on constraint and is slated to be a 2024 mid year color.

Happy I waited though since global B has been unlocked by hp tuners so i can get those longitude headers on once I break the engine in.

I think it's time for us to face the facts that GM just doesn't have a clue.

Years ago, when I saw the Cadillac Sixteen, I said, "This MoFo would put GM back on the map for sure in the luxury market anyway." They scrapped it. They just don't want to win.

Here's an old vid of one:

Well damn, whats wrong with GM vehicles?
Even a C8 Corvette Z06 ??? :dunno:
Even tho I've been a GM MAN nearly all my life..... reliability past four years isn't to be trusted........ they start to have issues and fall apart even vettes.... those pop-up headlights were utter shit

It's G - M

You really think they're making a C8 or a Corvette better than they're making a cadillac? No. American shit is poorly made

Would I take it for free? Hell fucking yeah. But I wouldn't pay anywhere near market value for a Cadillac or a Corvette or a C8

I have a 2017 Kia Sportage with 68,000 miles on it. I haven't done shit but changed the oil on this mother fucker. See the post below why I don't fuck with GM
