ANYONE ELSE WATCHING WOMEN'S SOCCER WORLD CUP?

I'm seeing some terrible matches. Which I suppose is to be expected in the early rounds when superior teams play inferior ones. And I know they want refs from all the leagues but my god the officiating has been dreadful.

Except for Germany none of the traditional powers have looked good. The US in particular. I am struggling to know why Morgan is still the 9. IMO her best days are behind her.
Brazil still has some lovely combo play but not enough players to support Debinha. They could be dangerous if they get out of group.

This should be called The Bunker Cup. Nothing but bunkers on the block, one after the other.

Let's see what Andonovski does against Portugal. If Ertz is still at CB it's quite possible the US is going home.

Yeah man ... D n Goal Keeping is solid too ...

i think them an England are the only teams not to allow a goal ...

That Canada Australia match is big .... Canada win or a draw they move on ..

more than likely Nigeria beats Ireland ..so tht will b the 2 out tht group ...

Wow Colombia had no bizzness beating Germany .... :eek2:

They probably still advance but if they dont get their shit together they going home nex round ..

congrats on the mod job I guess

Okay, I'm going to say it - this tournament has been pretty boring and unwatchable for the most part because of the expansion of the field. Lots of these teams really shouldn't be here. As a result, we see bunker football and the old if-you-can't-beat-them, beat-them-up type of play.
Also, more games mean more refs. And just like the lesser teams, the lesser refs really don't belong. They have no idea how to control a game and let it flow.

Oh well, let's see what happens in the knockouts. I still think Germany takes it. Losing to Columbia, I don't think Germany expected those tactics and they didn't adjust well.

Colombia only had 9 shots ...Germany wasnt much better they had 14 but i get what ur saying ...

knockout stage will b a lot better the bums teams will b home along with the sub par refs ..

remember they get evaluated too so only the best refs will also advance ...lol

I hate the times of these games also ...:hmm:

i pretty much gotta catch highlights ... i aint staying up till 3am to watch these games ...smh

yes I know. I'm just commenting on one of the reasons damn near all the early games have been wack sauce. Good refs know how to keep it fairly even. There were 2 games, I can't remember which but they started with one team just clobbering the other on every 50/50 ball and the ref did nothing. It was pathetic.

Spain ain't who they thought they were.

Remember they were already thru ...they probably sat everybody or didnt even go all out ...

makes no sense to risk injury ....

but yeah 4 nill is kinda suspect ...lol

Only one starter sat out for this game. They got ran. Japan will probably beat Norway in the knockout next.

Damn Australia decided NOW was the time to wake up and play their best game smh...

ah well at least Nigeria made it through and Jam Down still competing..

Reigning Olympic champions didnt make it .... :smh:

not surprised .... n all they needed was a draw to advance ... yikes ...

that penalty was BS too ... lol ... glad tht wasnt a deciding goal ....

I woke up early to see my people get Molly whooped. It was a rough game. I didn't like their sense of urgency, I didn't like the supporters in the crowd. Every thing was off. Props to Australia, they came to play.

I'm watching, hope US gets their ass kicked at some point. My daughters play club and I have seen all of the politics on how they give all of these white girls chances and opportunity. We have a lot of black girls that can play but they get overlooked way too much, especially when it comes to the US team.

The unspoken reason why we are not good in Men’s soccer is that our best athletes(black folks) aren’t playing.

US squeaked thru ...smh ...

i dont think they survive the nex round ...

cant wait to c the draw ...

shit wide open tho ...nobody loos super dominant ...

maybe Japan but their group was kinda weak ..Spain overrated ...

There's nothing "unspoken" about it. It's been known and discussed for decades. US best athletes can make way more playing other sports. Not even close.

MLS - 2022: $65,500
NFL - 2022: $705,000
MLB - 2021: $570,500
NHL - 2022: $750,000
NBA - 2022: $925,258

the women don't have as many options, obviously

NWSL - 2022: $35,000
WNBA - 2022: $60,671

The team is in turmoil at the worst possible time. And honestly, the blame lies squarely on the coach. He picked this team and he dictates the subs and tactics and they've looked like a grade-school team from day one.

For years the tactic has been to bunker against the US and hope to get a breakaway or penalty. Playing with two 10s has been the answer and having a wide shape with crosses into the box. This guy has NO 10 and his wings prefer to cut into the area instead of cross - which I can understand because nobody is making any runs.
It's terrible and he's going to get fired as he should.

Sweet 16 so far ..

Switzerland vs Spain ... Japan vs Norway ...

England vs Nigeria .... Australia vs Denmark

Netherlands ...USA ... ...TBD

England Nigeria gonna b interesting ....

sistas killing it in this tourney...saw the highlights of the sistas playing for england and the Netherlands each scoring multiple goals in their last matches

The US has black girls that are monsters playing on the younger teams but even then they still don't get the time they deserve. There is a player that plays for USC, her name is Simone Jackson. We have known her and her family since she was 10. I think she is on the u20 team. She is a beast but even when they play in tournaments she is coming off the bench towards the end of half, and she should be starting. The US loves to recycle these old ass white broads and give white players the opportunity to be stars.

My bad, I should have said players with a black mom and dad. They love mixed girls and that is heavy in club soccer. I think the ones that started that are not mixed is Naomi Girma and Crystal Dunn.

lol...yup pretty much ..but again u think them cacs look at them any differently ... ?...

they talented as fuck n thts why they start ...

talent trumps color until it`s time to come to the house for dinner ...n even then .....

I see many people here who don't understand football at all. Bringing race into it is ridiculous. Football more than any sport depends on all the players operating as a team. There is no time for bullshit; either you're good enough or you're not.

There is no better illustration than the US "team." They are playing like they've never seen each other before and that's all on the coach who chose the team, trained them, and chooses the shape and tactics.

The fans may be racist as fuck but coaches want to win games and they don't care what color you are.

Sweden is going to give the US that work.
- Cap'n Obvious out -
