You mean the average WWE wrestling fan can't name three of these Japanese women. In the wrestling world you have WWE fans who live in that bubble and then you have THE REST OF THE WRESTLING WORLD who DO know who these Japanese women are. Fans who watch AEW, Impact, ROH, New Japan, Stardom, NOAH etc, generally ALL watch the same shit. They're not just stuck to watching one promotion.
Again with this dated WWE mindset. The rest of the wrestling world outside of the WWE isn't a "relatively small wrestling audience" but this is typical WWE mindset speak. To the WWE mark if you're not over in front of the WWE audience then you're not over. I call bullshit on that.
Because they weren't full timers and only did tours in the States. As a booker you're not gonna put a belt on someone unless you know they're gonna be around for awhile so any so-called ceiling they hit wasn't due to their talent but rather their availability. Despite that they STILL got over!

Gonna check it out tomorrow but, Blood & Guts, Anarchy in the Arena, War Games. It's impossible not to have a fire match with 8-10 wresters, cause if a company put them in this type of match, they know they'll deliver.
I don't know man....I never got it with Sammy until the Bloodline angle but I thought he made that angle not the other way around. To me WWE is still relying on him to main event and that's as a tag team.
I agree with your second statement......I think in america you gotta have mic skills. Might can overcome that shit in Japan but in America? That's a tough sell.

I watched Blood and Guts last night and maybe it's because I'm desensitized to it but I just found all the "shock" violence in the match to just be boring.
The match dragged on and I lost any interest I may have had. There was no story to the match, just spots for spots sake. If AEW didn't lean so much on their bloody battles, perhaps last night would have come off different, but we see blood so often on their shows, this shit isn't even special anymore.
I don't understand why this wasn't a PPV instead of a free cable event too.

How many main events has Sammy been in since he left the Bloodline?
He doesn't get the same level of pops he did when he was in the Bloodline angle.
That title match he had against Roman in his hometown is the biggest match he'll ever have. That was his peak.
He definitely added to the Bloodline angle but he's cooled off since.
I had it on in the background while I was building my son's PC and it just looked like the same old same old "hardcore/lights out/no DQ/no rules" type matches they have all the time in AEW. Just this time with two rings and a cage added to the mix.
I find it weird that Moxley used some object (again like always) on Kenny Omega, but Omega never bled. That's a couple of matches now where that's happened. Does Omega not know how to do a blade job?
I will give AEW props for the production and they way they shot the match, particularly in the beginning when it was just one-on-one with Kenny Omega and Claudio. They used different camera angles and shots I have never seen before and I thought it looked nice.
There is no consistency with how these guys bleed and the dangers of this type of match. I don't even remember if Kenny bled but there was so much blood yesterday, whether he did or not didn't even matter, because it all was just for show, and in a corny way. Like none of the blood added to the story. There was no "he's lost so much blood he may pass out" moments in the match.

Ok so I haven't watched many Raw's since the angle ended but coincidentally I watched this past Raw I think that was in Atlanta? That crowd was HYPED. Not sure if Atlanta's just one of those great crowd towns(very well could be with the wrestling history) but he and KO main evented that night and probably got the biggest pop of the night aside from Cody....Gunter got a nice one as well especially for a heel.
If he's cooled off i'll say its because of him being on a tag team. They didn't stick with his momentum but I also understand it would've been kind of tough at that time he was red hot so the put the tag titles on him.
I don't know man I don't know if he has a long title reign in him but he for sure has at least a small run in him.

If it weren't for the video he released earlier this week about coming back to NWA, I could definitely see him as a SummerSlam or post SS Raw surprise.
Not sure where he would fit in, but I could see him in the upper midcard competing against the LA Knights and Austin Theory's of the world. Hell, a feud between him and Knight may be pretty fun.
