Disney+ News: Marvel SECRET INVASION TV Series UPDATE: NEW TRAILER!!!

i like it so far
of course its not like the comic storyline where it included the greater marvel universe including super heroes & villians

this is much more grounded and more a legit polticical spy show with shape lifting aliens (not a super hero show with shape shifting aliens)
with that said Maria Hill is Dead and the only main characters are Nick & Rhodey. I am thinking Rhodey is Skrull and used his influence to get Fury 'fired'

Once again who wrote this?
Great series so far.

Nick Fury: Men who look like us don't get promoted because of who our daddies know.
Nick Fury: Help a brotha out.
Rhodey: The reason we wrestled this power from mediocre men who don't look like us,
was simply to NOT turn it over to mediocre men who do.
Rhodey: You earned all this smoke...brotha
Nick Fury: I'm Nick Fury, even when I'm out. I'm in.
The problem is there having a damn near 60 year old man use millennial hip hop slang. When rhodey said " bout that super hero life in end game , I was in cringe city. Same applies here.

Secret Invasion
2023

Season One
Episodes 1 - 2

Watched these two this morning.

I never read what they did in the comics. And I doubt they are following it word for word. That shouldn’t be a surprise from what we have seen since “Iron Man” debuted in. 2008. So I’m going into this series blind and watching it for what it is.

The series starts out as a slow burn and develops more like a spy, espionage thriller from the 1970s in its tone.

It gives us a backstory on what was shown to us in the “Captain Marvel” movie with the Skrulls.

Not gonna spoil, but we got an unexpected death of a minor character that goes back to Phase One. And the way they depicting Nick Fury, I’m suspecting they are coming close to closing out his character.

We also get a surprise on Nick Fury’s personal life.

The series will have 6 episodes, going to let two stack up before catching up.

What folks are not really taking into consideration is people like me.

I have gotten to the point I just can’t sit here and wait week by week for a new episode of a series to debut. And sit there for 45 minutes just watching that one episode.

When you watch just one episode, you looking around for more and realize you gotta wait a while damn week for the next episode.

Netflix and the Pandemic shutdown spoiled people like me where we want it all NOW!!!.

That’s why I let about 2 to 3 episodes stack up and binge them back to back. Doing that it’s pretty much like watching a 2.5 hr movie.

As always you on point but for the first time in a long time I disagree.

Actually pandemic did BOTH.

Wandavision started the resurgence of weekly on streaming...

Last Dance too

Streamers had the stretch out content get more family style group appointment viewing

For week long buzz and convo and to let folks catch up

While I agree not ALL shows need a weekly release?

With streamers canceling shows actually REMOVING shows...

I think the weekly is fine.

Cause many may WAIT till the while show is available and that show may be pulled beside they get a chance

The Mandalorian on Disney+ started the weekly stuff.

It debuted in late 2019 when people thought the Pandemic was some crazy conspiracy stuff.

Some content does need to be weekly cuz you have those who just have to be the first to watch shit and blabber to the world what happened before others watch it.

If Mandalorian Season 2 had debuted all the episodes on day one, blabbermouths would have spoiled Luke Skywalker’s debut within 30 minutes of its debut on the service.

After this week’s premiere, I will be staying out of the thread to avoid spoilers.

I don't get the weekly shit, it's not as if they loose money by dropping all eps on release date

The super skrull had all powers of the Fantastic Four.
However, so far no Fantastic Four in the MCU.

On the screen this episode, the names were:
* Groot * Frost Beast * Cull Obsidian * Extremis

But what is skrull scientist lady harvesting? :dunno:

Edited: Harvest the DNA of those four
to create the Super Skrull

Extremis/Johnny Storm
Groot/Mr. Fantastic
Cull/Thing

Hmmmmmmm..

Weekly shows allows the streaming service to get more subscribers in theory, among other things. It also keeps subscribers coming back to the site. Maybe the subscribers find other shows that they like as well. It also helps with viewership. I don’t know why Disney doesn’t release multiple shows; in their different genres; and on different days. Shit would keep people coming back to their site…

Right now I’m just curious to find out if Fury knows who his wife is being he showed up after what we saw.

Also, the series explained the after credit scene of Fury/Anita Hill from “Spiderman: No Way Home”.

Yeah, they're losing ground to Max. The one show at a time is a bit odd, but it's probably a money thing, even though Disney has plenty.

Man where the hell is Rhodey? ...

Got me re-watching all his clips since the blip.... Lol

Either the next 2 episodes explains it or this will be a great cliffhanger for the movie...

Now the Daisy return rumors makes sense with Fury setting up The Secret Warriors to find Rhody...

This makes Armor Wars way more interesting...

It wasn't Netflix. They still drop all episodes for a series for the most part. It was Prime with Season 2 of the Boys that went to that weekly shit early in the Pandemic. Also season 1 of the Mandolorian was weekly. Remember Season 2 of The Ozarks dropped just as the lockdown happened and we still got all of the episodes.

I don’t think Disney can lose ground to anyone. They just have the best catalog and they can produce so much more then the other streaming services; because of their catalog

This isn't true

Disney is totally dependent on Marvel, Star Wars and Disney, so they're limited.

Most people have already seen their movies, and adding a movie and show every quarter isn't cutting it

Max has HBO content current and past, in addition to having a actual movie catalog that rotates

Nobody that has a streaming service has a better catalogue content than Disney, no one. Disney owns Pixar, Marvel, and Lucas Films. Combine that with their own material they produce and no one competes with them(for original content) there’s a reason why they have 157 million subscribers (not including their ESPN subscribers) which by they way they are about to put ESPN on their streaming platforms. And once they do that look out!! And they been around less than half the time that Netflix has. Only Amazon and Netflix have more. Disney runs the movie business which feeds into their streaming business…

I don’t know why any steaming platform would release all the episodes at once. It makes no business sense to do that…

Dude, Bob Iger just said this week that they might need to rethink things, because they're being spread too thin and the quality is suffering. People aren't watching Secret invasion and they didn't watch Andor.

Those few Marvel, Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies aren't touching the thousand movies and TV shows on HBO

Do you have Max, because you don't seem to know how many shows and movies they have. They don't just have DC.

Yes Bob said that because of quality and I'm not disagreeing nor saying that. Point is no streaming service can offer more content that's original and their own than Disney. That's all I was saying. Now does Marvel and Star Wars need to improve one can say that. And I'm not debating that.
