About an episode or 2 behind but I find it odd at the criticism it’s getting. They say Weekend is terrible because he’s actually acting. Sucks it got this response networks aren’t going to want to take chances.
It’s crazy to me the guys other show with Zendaya gets rave reviews but this one doesn’t.
Yeah. Surprised there isn’t more general backlash to Euphoria too. I guess the hyper-stylized look of the show allows for more room re: glorification of drugs & sex with the HS crowd.
Zendaya can act her ass off too. Award-winning performance with her role already.
With The Weeknd ... I actually find the role believable. The cult leader creep who arrives on the scene & starts taking over her life and career (Jocelyn’s). It’s my first time seeing Depp’s daughter act ... she’s doing a fine job in my opinion.
As for the show itself ... apparently it was a shitshow behind the scenes with the first writer or director walking away from the project, and Levinson + Weeknd taking over thereafter.

Really enjoying the 2nd season too. Just past the halfway mark of the great 6th episode with the notable guest appearances at the moment. Nice getting additional back story on the family 5+ years ago, and as I noted before - the characters feel "lived in" and the show knows what it is.
Some of the critics and reviewers were questioning whether the show would work better on a week-to-week release schedule. That way more people can discuss the episodes individually over the course of 2+ months ... but they also noted it's definitely one of those shows that has strong word of mouth (in binge mode format). People checked out the first season last year and recommended it to their family and friends. Those people will be on board for this current 2nd season, and it being a strong sophomore effort ... will recommend it further to more people.

Lemme know whatcha think. It flew under the radar, but Rex's performance got some buzz. A few friends and family checked it out respectively, and they enjoyed it too. Said he was a "completely lovable dirtbag" and that they enjoyed watching the mixture of actors / regular people in the movie.

I was saying to my dad (also a fan of Res' Dogs) ... it's good to see when series can tell their whole story & not jump the shark in the process. Too many shows run WAY too long and are basically a cash grab later on down the line.
Res' Dogs and other shows which don't overdo it (i.e. - Succession and Barry ending after 4 seasons) can maintain their critical acclaim, and Res' Dogs has been well-received from jump. Just a damn good show. It'll have you smiling and laughing one minute ... and wondering who's chopping onions a few minutes later.
