That one stumps some people just like this one...

If a doctor gives you 3 pills and tells you to take one pill every half hour, how long would it take before all the pills had been taken?

This is one of those questions where they are two possible answers

We know from numerous threads that logic isn't a BGOL stronghold. Stop asking, all these millionaires who have people answer questions like this all day for them, these hard questions.

It doesn't matter if time moves forward or backwards!!! In this case we should be looking at absolute value.

Bro I’ve explained several times why I feel the answer is A , like the OP asked ( without dissing anybody).

So either explain why you feel the answer is D, or keep clowning which is the bgol way.

Show ur work

The question asked, "what is the closest time to midnight". It didn't specify any dates. So, just looking at the question, the only logical answer is D. You're trying to complicate it into something that it's not.

Naw I disagree. If this was just about raw numbers or absolute value, midnight and am/pm wouldn’t be involved in the question. It would just say which number is closer to 12, 11.55 or 12.03. Can’t just change the question to fit a specific answer. The question is more focused on critical thinking more than math. But we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

I know if I had to go into a torture chamber until 12am, I’d rather go in that bitch at 11:55 am instead of 12:03am.

Who gives a fuck which direction time moves? Ya'll making up your own questions. 'CLOSEST' muthafuckas...what is so hard about that??? How about this. You are supposed at work at at midnight and your Black ass gets there at 12:03 a.m. You were close to midnight....three minutes past is close as fuck but you're still late you lazy dumb fuck. When the boss ask if you got there on time...you know what you are gonna say..."no, but I was close." I hope he fires your ass anyway.

I would say D because of a three minute difference. Would have been better if they said midnight today or yesterday.

However, time doesn’t move backwards. So if you consider that logic, then D would be 23 hours and 57 minutes off, and A would be closer at 12 hours and 5 minutes.

You are doing too much math... the question was, the closest time TO Midnight.. aka

the closest time TOwards Midnight, anything AFTER midnight is PAST..

simple logic is my thing bruh!!!

A - 11:55am
Time moves forward, not backwards so 11:55a is the shortest distance in time to midnight.
They didn't ask about time movement though. Where does it mention forwards or backwards? That's how people get tricked, they over think it.

If you don't take direction into account, B is 6 minutes away and D is 3 minutes away. "D" is the answer.
