Is Father's Day dead?

I spent it with my kids even got in touch with my daughter who I haven't seen in years(her mom remarried and her husband cut off contact) but I've heard from too many men that it was non-existent.
One guy at the gym I train at said his wife woke him up early with a to do list, another said his gf completely forgot about it even though they have kids together, guy on my football team said his wife volunteered for work. I spoke with my sons and told them why the date is important but even they said nobody cares about Dads unless dads aren't around. What does the board think, will Father's day be soon erased?
 
Gentlemen, and the few Ladies, I had a beautiful Father's Day!!! My youngest daughter prepared an absolutely beautiful meal for the entire family, by herself, including a dessert from scratch. My oldest daughter along with my wife got me some special nick-nack-snacks that I like. It was a beautiful day !!!

Beloved, universal, celebrated as mother's day and I think that's okay

The father's day messages I receive are few but they are always so kind and personal and heartfelt that it's not the number.

I do think especially in the black community black women should do more to celebrate fathers and father figures

But I think even more so it should MEN CELEBRATING MEN.

there are MANY MANY good black fathers and we need to highlight them more.

Right I played c.o.d. and 2k with my sons ate pancakes in bed with my youngest daughter and caused all kinds of terrible with my oldest before she leaves for college. I legit cried.
I told them all I wanted was peace and to be appreciated

I ain't really cry yet since my mom passed and you got me getting teary.

I've just been posted crazy the last few days to distract.

But you got me.

This is the very first time my mom hasn't called me to wish me happy father's day and tell me how proud she was of me.

I will never ever hear that again.

I have all her cards and even a voice message I think.

Hearing the greatest mother ever tell me that I did good? That she saw me as an adult. And that she never knew her own father but I made her realize how great a father could be. And I kept telling her it's all because of her.

Damn you bro you hit my heart.

No it won't be as big as Mother's Day and that's ok. Mom's actually have the kids and many times have more of the responsibility of and for the kids so they're entitled to their day.

Regarding Father's Day. It's a celebration of Father's. If the children of those Fathers and the Mothers of those children don't celebrate him, who's to blame for that?

In each scenario it's different and a different answer for each family, household and situation.

True I think social conditioning for lack of a better word has something to do with that as well
I've seen hateful women say"you don't congratulate a fish for swimming" in regards to men
 
Fathers day will be around....sometimes the one's doing the most shouting need to shut the fuck up cause real ones are doing what they have to do and there's no time to sit around and complain.

It's just different than mothers day but I'm not going to complain about it because it's really about the home and what may not be appreciated today will later on and I can attest to that.

I went to my mom’s house and ate. She cooked one of my favorite dishes. My wife made me some banana pudding. All was good.

My Father's Days be lit, folks wishing me Happy Father's day left and right. I'm getting texts and dms, and I'm sending them out to all the Father's I can. This year I spent Father's Day at Disney World with my family. My wife bought me a handbuilt lightsaber from Disney. I'm extremely blessed and thankful for my family and friends.
