Of course I added some eye candy at the bottom, an incentive for y'all to help me out

I'm a movie nut, so one of my favorite things to do is to watch movies. I had a 75 in TV, 9000 series (Samsung 75mu9000) and it played everything under the sun. Mkv, Xvid, Avi, it didn't fucking matter.

I had some spare change and I saw an 85 in for sale and I couldn't help myself. I bought it. Sold the 75, but the problem occurred when playing movies from my hard drive.

Got a ton of movies, for whatever mood I'm in. Shit that I've seen the thousand times shit that I know all the words to. I had just watched the movie Alligator like a year before and something inspired me to watch it again on the 85 in.

Somehow the same movie I played on my 75 in, wouldn't play on my 85 in. I kept giving the error of the video won't play or the audio won't play. Now this shit is beginning to be a pain in the ass and I was wondering if there was anything I could do about it. If I could update the firmware if I could bypass something

Below is the error I get and the model TV I have. I'm sick and tired of not being able to play my fucking movies or having to download a new version of the movie that I already have because the version I have won't fucking play right.

It wasnt much of a problem when RARBG.TO was working. I'd just download another versionand keep it pushing. But now it's annoying TF out of me. My 75-in could play Everything, but that was a 9000 series. If I would have known the difference between the 9000 series and the 8000 series I would have paid the extra 200 bucks.

Is there a patch I can upload or something that can help me out because some of my favorite movies either aren't playing or the audio isn't playing. Thanks in advance

Your new model TV likely doesn't support the audio codec/format in your movie files.
The newer TVs are built for streaming content from online apps (Disney+, Netlfix, etc.) and not necessarily for streaming local files.
I would get an NVIDIA Shield or something similar to hookup to the TV to play your files.

seems like samsung dropped support on newer firmware/devices

^ Yeah I was going to say you have to hook a ps5 or Xbox up to newer tvs.
Will MKV videos play through my PlayStation 5? They didn't play through the PS3 or the PS4 I don't think. I'll give it a shot, because this shit is getting on my fucking nerves

I believe that they will.
USB drives file system is unsupported.

With smaller HDs I would be able to change from XFat or whatever file system that was on it when I got it to Fat32. With the larger HDs, like my 12TB, I can no longer do it. My PS3 only read FAT32

a lot of LG tvs dont support a lot of movies you may have downloaded.
my LG will display the same message. But my Samsung plays everything.

What I had to do was convert the files that wouldn't play on my Samsung in the living room with free video converter. It's called free but I purchased the full program. I only run into a few files that wouldn't play and convert them or watch them on a Samsung TV in the bedroom. It's a fast converter but you can find a free converter somewhere if it's worth the trouble to you. And whichever type of files that won't play on your TV don't download them anymore.

Something similar happened to me when I replaced my blu-ray player. The old one had a feature-rich DLNA function that supported near every video and audio codec known to man. It would play anything. The new one has just about every streaming app, but struggles to play anything from my server that isn't mp3 or mp4. For me a roku stick was the easiest solution.

1. You shouldnt get any help since yiu chose to post the first woman with ugly bolt on titties.

2. You say it's not playing sound... Are you getting video? Digital videos are encoded with sound and video too. Your issue may not be THAT serious and require a driver to be installed.

This. I don't trust the built in codecs on the TV itself. I use an Android box to play my movies. Zero issues.

With a TV like that, you need to be streaming from a device anyway
I got netflix, hulu, whatever the fuck, but I also got a shitload of movies on my hard drive that I've already downloaded. Classics like:

JDs Revenge
The Spook Who Sat By the Door
Transformers The Movie 1986

Tons of movies and series that aren't on Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, or anywhere

Roku & NVIDIA shield tv pro & Android TV Box are three options I have seen as possibilities.

I just want to be able to play the movies I've downloaded onto my 12TB. Something I can plug into my TV, Plug in the 12TB and enjoy my shit. Which is better and why?

Also, I've been using Fubo TV. It's $95. Can I get rid of this with Android TV Box. I need NFL NETWORK, which is why I'm still rocking with Fubo (even though they don't have TNT)

Is your tv running on a version of android? Download VLC. They have all the audio and video codecs set up to play anything. If not, get yourself the top of the line Firestick and hack it to play home network files.

I've heard nothing but great things about the Nvidia shield. From what I hear, it's a powerful little box that seems to have no tech limitations in regards to video playback like what you are looking for. Plus, you can easily add all your streaming apps as well.

Although Roku is pretty popular, I didn't like it. The interface seemed clunky to me, plus the stupid thing where it can only hold so many apps and if you go over a certain amount, it will need to uninstall one to use another. Now this may have changed in recent times, but this was my experience a couple of years ago.

I have the same issue with my Samsung. Which is why anything I downloaded had to have the AAC codec from RarBG

I couldn't play any Dolby Digital codec encoded vids.

You can play them thru a Firestick or some other streaming device but not direct to the TV.

But what I do now is grab flicks off of TorrentGalaxy

I follow this dude GalaxyRG, he usually posts 1400mb MKV files that work fine for me and I play movies from my phone using this app XCast to play direct on the TV.

My choice would be the NVIDIA Shield since I know that it will play anything you throw at it and won't struggle with 4K files, if you have them.
I would also look into getting a NAS where you can store your 12TB drive (and add more in the future) and have access to it anywhere, even outside of the house using Plex.
If you insist on lugging your 12TB drive around make sure you get a streaming device that has a USB attachment for your drive.

For watching TV, look into IPTV. There's a thread on here with lot's of information on which ones to choose.
They usually run anywhere from $5 to $25/month.

A top of the line Firestick and a hack is not needed to play home network files. All you need is Plex to do that.

Yeah, I prefer the NVIDIA Shield over the Roku all day.
I only have Rokus in my house because it's the only streaming device that the Spectrum app works on for when I want to watch cable TV.

I have something similar to the one below. It's a pc so it plays everything and you can store files for later viewing, just pick up a wireless keyboard with a touch pad and you will never look back.

Roku is one of the best values and I prefer them for simple streaming (especially since I am wary of Google) but if you are looking for a streaming device to play files, all audio codecs, IPTV etc then Roku is never the answer and the Nvidia Shield is best

Be wary of cheap android boxes

Check out some cheap blu ray players and see if they play the files...I would have thought your PS5 would be able to....the Shield is not the best value but it will resolve your issue and is a no compromise solution

I have some files my PS5 won't recognize.

It seems most people don't know or forgot when Sony updated the PS3 so it wouldn't be able to play any illegal content on its systems.

If you had a cam rip of a movie, it knew not to play it. I'm not sure how they pulled that off.

I got a android tv box and it's been running great. I've had it for almost 10 yrs now.

Thanks, I was looking for another torrent to replace rarbg.to.

I ended up getting the Nvidia. It'll be here today around 3. I'll try it out for 90 days to see if it works. Thanks you guys as always

I really wish some of y'all dudes live anywhere near Ohio. I know I'm running an Antiquated system like a mother fucker that could use a systemic upgrade but I'm not trying to bug y'all for help on every goddamn thing.

I actually preferred it when my three or four TB hard drive would plug into my PS3. It had a constant power source. With the 12 TB hard drive, if I pause a movie longer than 15 minutes it freezes up and I have to disconnect, reconnect and then I can watch the movie again.

The benefit of it is if I disconnect and reconnect I can start the movie again and it will start the movie right where I left off, which is great. The only thing is, the PS3 wouldn't play MKV files

I hear you on MKV files.

Used to save a bunch of them to flashdrives but they became hit and miss on playback for different tv sets at home, or lent to friends.

Most of the stuff I save now is all MP4. Only once in a blue moon does compatibility come back w/ error message. Thankful for that.

With all those hoes you posted, i forgot you was having an issue lol.

There's a rule man, a long-standing rule on BGOL. You can't ask for shit without posting some bitches or some titties or something. Because if you don't people will just post pictures of Keith Sweat begging or some other shit

You got to give to get.

It sounds like your tv doesn't have DTSHD or DTS decoders built into the player software. You can shop online at Amazon or Walmart for any Android box with a Amlogic S905X4 chipset. Just install VLC or Kodi and you're good to go...
