TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

The Crowded Room

Definitely not as bad as some critics are saying it is. Some parts have pacing problems and some decisions and actions several characters take are questionable but there is enough in this series to keep me engaged and see where it goes. The actors are doing a great job and it's definitely involving.

The Idol

This week's episode definitely displayed the warts and all life of a pop star. Some scenes were actually hard to watch. Slowly but surely I'm starting to see what type of person Tedros is. I wonder who Jane Adams is channeling as the record label executive Nikki.

Yeah its cool not sure if it will get renewed
We will see, was reading up on the writers strike how Execs were fucking over writers.

If you ever wondered why a lot of shows have been getting canceled after two seasons recently, it's because writers get a bigger bonus for each season a show is on but studios have been saving costs by canceling shows early.

The strike is also a abut AI taking jobs away which is ironic with this show.

Superman & Lois

At first I was happy the show was saved but most of the cast only appearing in a few and possibly not any episodes is a huge let down. Plus a cut back on the SFX is starting to make me think why bother.

Black Mirror season 6

2 episodes in and im already highly entertained at how the episodes are playing out. This show is surreal and then some even with a couple of predictable turns. Who knew the execs at Netflix had a sense of humor LOL

@playahaitian

Previously you mentioned enjoying season 1 of Somebody Somewhere. Here's a good interview with the lead ... listened to it a few days ago ... she comes on just after the 57-minute mark (timestamp is noted in the 1st link).

I'm two episodes in and pretty disappointed! It feels more like a show brought to you by the creators of Black Mirror than it feels like Black Mirror.

Joan is Awful was funny— laughed at it more than I did any hour long episode from the pitiful final season of Ted Lasso— but I didn’t like either of the first two episodes and don’t see myself rewatching them. Average at best.

The second episode didn’t even seem like a Black Mirror episode. Where was the
futurism
?

I saw the terms and conditions angle coming
, thought it was cliche and absurd.

Seems I’m in the minority though…

“Black Mirror” is either radically expanding its definition of “technology” to include stuff like satanic talismans or it’s straying from the theoretical rigor sci-fi requires to delve into horror — or black comedy, and sometimes both. “I got a bit bored of writing [episodes where it] pulls out to reveal that they’re all inside a computer, so one of the things I wanted to do was really shake up what the show is,” Brooker told GQ this month.

Not what I was looking for. :smh::smh::smh:

The Walking Dead: Dead City

I haven't watched the Walking Dead or any show associated with it in almost 4 years and I wasn't going to watch this show but the Escape from New York vibe appealed to me. It's interesting to see familiar characters after several time jumps and how people in this series are trying to live a life of normalcy among the Walking Dead. I definitely got pulled in by episode one and I'm looking forward to how the series plays out.

BLACK MIRROR SEASON SIX CONTINUED

S6 E3 · Beyond the Sea Didnt fully go the way i thought it would but ended up providing a dark gut punch

S6 E4 · Mazey Day Great twist i didnt see coming nice nods to films with a similar twist or story thread
and examination of having absolutely no heart or morals

S6 E5 · Demon 79 : This was good but a bit drawn out. the ending could have gone either way and i still would have enjoyed it.

Gonna start checking out The Righteous Gemstones season 3 later this week. The first 2 eps dropped yesterday.

Probably going to wait until Thursday so we can check out a few episodes of season 2 of The Bear (which drops that day) with it.

I hope Dead City is dope … All the other spin offs were trash …

Has anyone checked out this series? Currently airing its 2nd season. Hadn't heard of it until a few days ago ... might get around to watching it later this year.
