John Roland, Longtime TV Anchor at New York’s WNYW, Dies at 81

imo @playahaitian is sentimental about "old" nyc - and that potato eater is definitly a staple from that time

Yup

I grew up with that old cac back before cable and vhs tapes. And the interview he did with that homeless woman is actually why i started volunteering and interned on shelters as a kid. I remember how angry my parents were and it stuck with me.

Damn, you fellas are hard as fuck. R.I.P. Grew up watching him along with the other old-school reporters.

He WAS an asshole

But he was also stable in thousands of homes for decades. And was a very influential voice when there were less than 12 TV stations on the dial.

We had to watch him for school current events

That man was in a shootout near the studio.

But when spoke to that black woman like that? I can honestly tell you it sparked a generation of black and Hispanic kids

Your parents were angry at the homelessness or angry that you were volunteering?

You must be really bored tonight.

Don't you have a novel AND a script to edit?
I'm high as fuck. I was trying to write while high and it was coming out all right.

What I want to know is if the contract that I wrote for my job is correct. I did this shit like 2 hours ago after I already eaten the edible. I think it was pretty good
