Let's be real, Eboni and a typical bus driver would lead two different lives. Chances are he'd want to chill after work and get a homecooked meal from a peaceful wife. Eboni is a socialite working on her brand. Neither of them would be happy. She's gonna up and leave wherever the new opportunity is. A bus driver ain't gonna wanna pick up and leave every 6-12 months. They'd be awful for each other. He ain't trying to go to perpetual networking events and she ain't making consistent dinner.

But again, she's constantly around millionaires. Why aren't any of the kind of men she'd want to be with picking her? Why isn't she her type's type?

There it is. Where's her book on that. Her core problem should be her focus. Her choices should be her focus. Her last relationship would make for a better discussion because she could speak what happens once you get to that status and date. Talk about that experience. She could host a dating show with men at her desired success level and call it "Eboni K Will-You date Him?"

It just feels like there are two conversations being had at the same time. Her personal dating preferences, and the issues with economic status of the people in that dating pool being one part. And why black people aren't doing their best to be higher achievers in the world. Which are both conversations that could be had. But her framing of it ruins everything. Because there is a hard line between her dating choices and habits and "the problem with the black community" from a shrew's point of view. All this to ultimately spin it into promoting her book.

I have an idea, didn't Steve Harvey used to try to hook women up with professional men. That should be her show. She should get with him and put this together. Let's consolidate all of this fuckery and trim it down.

True. Got chicks out here making 38k a year calling men making 20k more than them broke cause they don't make 6 figures. Im gone keep it a stack. We have an ever growing percentage of the population that seem to be obsessed with status, wealth and clout and anyone not aspiring for more than humble life is a bum. Im 40, I'm married, I'm a home owner, I enjoy my job and my life... Im happy... Yeah I got goals for myself and my family, but being a baller aint ever been one of them.

I think the swift recoil to ole girl is she, like allot of educated and successful black women. Always seem to sing the same. Damn. Songs. They prop themselves up, using the black man's standing to do it. As someone else said, there are 2 different conversations being had. But the 2nd convo is only happening because the bitch is pivoting to it in an effort to save face. Yeah black folks could do more to better our standing here... But that wasn't the prevailing point of her initial viral moment. It was to prop up black women, by insinuating that black men aren't up to scratch. That's why people are coming at her.

I feel you. For me it's hard to judge a woman who's always seen with a full face of make up and weave down her ass. But you can look at her hairline, relative to her round face and see that if it wasn't for the money, she'd be an avg looking chick... But wait... She doesn't think avg is good enough... My only problem with her is how she looks down on the bus driver. Our mailman, truck drivers, garbage men, etc etc.. If they was to all stop working tomorrow, the world would crumble in a heartbeat.

I always shadow my older brother coming up. He was very successful coming up, I never seen 300k cash in my life. But he would speak to the club owners and even laugh janitors. Money never made the person, the person just makes the money!

This is true. I was having lunch with a divorced woman who is well-off. She’s around 60, pretty, body soggy, and has two grown kids. She kept saying things related to money and that she’s an AKA or some sorority shit she kept babbling. I said, you’re too old for all of the nonsense you’re spewing. You retirement age will ridiculously high standards. You need to accept a guy who works hard and loves you and ride off into the sunset. She immediately said she can’t be with a man that has less than her. She makes and owns too much that this guy she wants is very rare. She owns many rental properties and is divorced from two career men. I said, cool, so don’t say there aren’t marriageable men, say you want a rich man. Once a woman becomes successful, men are a trinket to them. They don’t desire men; they just need one around like a spare tire. Another married woman I was talking at work is 54 and her husband is high 60’s. She admitted she doesn’t wanna be married anymore and doesn’t enjoy sex. She said most of her female friends despise sex with their husbands and stop wanting it around age 50. She’s only still married because of the lifestyle.
