So y'all willing to go to jail and be sued by the patron AND the restaurant's parent company? This is what I mean by folks not knowing what they're talking about. All this sounds fantastic on paper. But it's simply not that easy. Those folks came into that restaurant looking for trouble. Anything you do to them just adds fuel to the fire and more liability for YOU and the company you represent. There are consequences to poisoning someone's food. Folks do numbers in jail for food contamination. Sometimes it's bigger than "how you feel".Preach...

If you haven't watched the flick I posted above, happens all the time with people who are rude to their servers. I've known tons of peeps who worked in that capacity. They have no prob doing it all day to anyone acting the ass to them or peeps in a restaurant. I learned a long time ago, don't fook with them. Heard too many horror stories.
I've watched that movie hundreds of times, it's one of my favorites. However it's just a movie. I'm a trained chef. I've worked and managed in kitchens for 20+ years. Trust me when I say this... 99% of those stories are cap. No matter how shitty the customers are, if you retaliate in ANY way, you're in the wrong. Any kitchen manager or head chef worth anything wouldn't allow anything of that nature. And IF (and that's a big IF) they did and got away with it they were lucky they didn't get caught. Contamination of food for public consumption is a felony. Restaurant groups WILL press charges to the fullest extent to be compliant with their insurance company. Thats not even mentioning the civil lawsuits against the person and the restaurant. I'm not just talking out my ass. What the restaurant management or head chef should have done was to refuse service. That's the restaurant's prerogative. I know how Texas Roadhouse gets down. I ran one of their kitchen years ago. They're a C tier steakhouse. Super cheap, low food quality and low sales. They not turning down no money. The restaurant was being greedy and it backfired. I blame the establishment not the server.
I agree with what you're saying and there's levels of establishments. You acting like they couldn't of done a "oops, that fell on the floor" or the pubic hairs in food or rub a steak on their ass, all like the flick.
I've been told stories like I said, in my time, and everyone in the back "didn't see anything". Food poisoning is one thing, but mishaps happening? Don't act like it don't happen. Maybe you just haven't seen.
Especially this generation, they don't give a fook.
I couldn't get through the video. Man, I wish WOULD've run into muthafuckas like this when I worked these kinds of jobs as a teen lmao. A table full of Confederate cosplayers?! Goddamn, I'm throwin all kinds of white napkins on the table on some extra shit.... if they ask why I'd tell em it was to make them more comfortable in their natural habitat of surrender. I'd suggest wines that were 4 years old apropos of nothing... to remind them of their roots as pure failures. I for sure would've spit in their food and let the cooks know to make their food extra bad. It would've been a great fucking night for me tbh.

Management really put their liability and money before the staff.

Literally every restaurant has a right to refuse service for various reasons. (No shirt, no shoes, obscene languag/ clothing, lack of appropriate clothing.....etc)
A group of mfkrs wearing the confederate battle flag at an establishment that has black employees, would fall into that category (inflammatory or culturally insensitive clothing)

Oh and food does get fucked with (It's VERY easy), when dealing with unruly customers. I've seen it firsthand when I worked part-time while in high school and college. Anyone saying otherwise or its "rare" is naiive AF.

Yeah Bruh I'm not crying. It's just a job and that's one group of people, if the establishment can't find another person to handle outwardly racist people that's their issue.

Dog I have seen trucks with confederate flags here in Northern Illinois going into Wisconsin. The MidWest is full of them! Back in Michigan folks would adopt the lifestyle just cause of country music. They'd buy cowboy hats and boots. They'd wear flannel everything, but have office jobs. Man, it wouldn't be difficult to find an attorney to take this up pro-bono. It isn't that hard. My guy did his job under harsh working conditions and management refused to shield him from harassing customers who were demeaning him due to the color of his skin.
The restaurant was at fault for not protecting their employees and should compensate the man for emotional damage.
The fact there is video footage of him in tears due to the emotional abuse he endured helped his (supposed) case.
He may OWN the restaurant when all is said and done.
Better to play chess than checkers. Fuck spitting in their food when you can hit them in their pockets.
