Correct me if I'm wrong, but only the "C" in BRICS has any meaningful investments in Africa. Russia has mercenaries there but not much else and the other three aren't particularly involved with Africa (apart from S. Africa but they're an African country).
Golden Rule: he who has the gold makes the rules. As much money as the US sends to Africa, we have plenty of influence over there.
