Most car enthusiasts dream about owning supercars one day, whether it be it a Ferrari LaFerrari, a Lamborghini Huracan, or possibly a McLaren 600LT. With a bit of luck and hard work, that dream can become a reality.


However, with supercar ownership, maintaining these vehicles can become more of a headache than you might expect. In a new video by YouTube channel Vehicle Virgins, Parker takes his McLaren 600LT into service for some minor maintenance - brake pads, air filter, fresh oil and just a regular checkup. This results in a $5,000 bill that catches Parker off guard.

While the Vehicle Virgins YouTube channel began as an informative source of what to look out for when buying a first car, it has quickly evolved into a supercar future owner video manual. Parker posts a lot of videos about him and his friends hooning about in the latest BMW M4 GTS or Porsche 911 Turbo S, but many of his videos lift the curtain on what’s really behind the glamorous supercar ownership.

As Parker makes his way to the AGX (Avant-Garde-Xotics) to have his McLaren 600LT serviced and prepared for a track day, he notices how reliable the 600LT has been so far. After 20,000 miles, he had no major issues with the vehicle at all. While his McLaren seems to be pretty reliable, he soon finds out that it is not so cheap to run.

It all starts with the mechanics at AGX noticing that Parker put one of the oil caps the wrong way around which caused oil to spill everywhere. Then there are the usual items: Two air filters, rear brake pads, fresh oil, and testing the brake fluid.

After Parker enjoys his track day with his friends, he finally pulls the bill from AGX out. The filters and brake pads are expensive with $1,500 for pads and a $1,500 just for the labor charge. When it is all said and done, Parker ends up with a bill for over $5,200.

While that may seem like a lot of money, Parker admits he actually got away lightly this time because the lithium battery in the 600LT will need replacing soon. With Parker’s McLaren just coming to the end of its warranty period, it means another $7,000 out of pocket - just for a replacement battery.

While every supercar ownership experience will be different, Parker's recent experience shows what one can expect when owning a McLaren 600LT.

Smh McLaren is 242k you don’t buy a 240k dollar car and complain about a the repair bill. Ninja think this type of car comes with $30 dollar ACDelco lifetime warranty brakes.Let alone this guy takes his car to the race track smh.How do you think the car became this expensive. As far as the other video that’s about right my 07 Escalade key was $800 and now I own a 2016 Escalade Platinum edition plus a C8 corvette. Learn how to work on your car yourself, such as oil changes and brakes.

Dealer wanted $1200 for the oil change and DCT filter change. Did everything myself parts was $110 for oil and the DCT filter was $129 even bought some rhino rams for 70 bucks..save myself some
money. YouTube is your best friend for fixing your car.

If you get a supercar, just pay for the maintenance/extended warranty. It's typically around $10k per year, but well worth is and should considered part of the ownership cost.

On top of that... it was used.... 20,000 miles on it.... dude in the shop said "You don't usually see a McLaren with that many miles on it"..... he was driving that shit to the supermarket and the mall
