Official 2025 NFL Discussion preseason edition!!!

Personally, I really dont think it's as close as people are making it out to be. I think Stroud is the guy.

Be careful with those Ohio State QB's :smh:
In college they usually have one of the best weapons + one of the best O-lines
Which doesn't translate well, when they get to the NFL
Because they usually struggle handling NFL D-line pressure

I hear you completely. If it wasn't for Justin Fields, I would be completely against it, but I'm feeling like Stroud is different, and I think that with the line we have in Carolina, I'm hoping that he has a similar experience. With WRs...now that DJ is gone? We'll see

Mel Kiper has Will Levis over CJ Stroud... :hmm:

I would love to see a breakdown of how Mel's final 1st round mock drafts compare against actual draft.

Mel Kiper, ESPN

2 OF 5

The Huddle Report scored the mock draft Kiper submitted prior to their deadline, rather than his updated version on Thursday afternoon.

In his almost-final mock draft, Kiper held strong to his prediction of Luke Joeckel to the Chiefs, which cost him four points in the standings. As a result, Kiper's mock draft score of 38 was his lowest in five years.

Despite the down year, Kiper's mock draft average still ranks among the best in the business.

Kiper has a five-year average mock draft score of 42, placing him fifth overall.

Despite his success with the mock draft, Kiper typically struggles to predict the top 100. He correctly predicted just 77 of this year's top 100 picks, and his five-year average of 77.8 ranks 20th out of 26 analysts.

Yeah, Aiyuk runs better routes & gets open more than Deebo
He's not elite or anything, but he's really solid
On a different team with a better QB (not Garoppolo)
Aiyuk would be putting up CeeDee Lamb numbers

deebo is one of my favorite players, he's strong as hell and physical and draws alot of attention.

Aiyuk is solid at the 2, he is kinda skinny though.

My only concern is the deep threat, and brocks arm strength...

but the niners are super solid going forward

want to see what happens with the backup qbs

Yeah I'm hoping & praying Brock's arm strength improves somehow with this surgery
I've seen others talking about it on twitter & youtube
That sometimes arm strength improves with tommy johns surgery
And sometimes with how they sew the tendon back & reinforce the elbow :dunno:

Well so far, Fields has been getting by with elite athleticism & running ability
(shots fired Bears fans)
I know he didn't have many good weapons, but if you look at his passing numbers
He's kind of just.....meh

60.4% completion rate
2242 yards
17 td's & 11 picks
55 sacks
16 fumbles (2 lost)
85.2 qb rating
Plus his team had the worse record in the NFL

With all the cap space + draft picks the Bears have
If Fields still looks kinda meh...especially in the pocket...
Then the Ohio State QB curse might continue

Fields occasionally holds the ball too long in the random sequences that he has time but part of that may be that the receivers dropped so many perfectly catchable balls last season. Plus the line was trash. And even with the worst record in the league the team was 1-7 in 1 possession games so they weren't out there getting curb stomped on a weekly basis like some other past Bears team(Marc Trestman).

The NFL in 2023 seems weird as hell I have to give props to Chicago that black GM is doing his thing but everyone else is doing some weird shit. I notice some of these owners want to get really tight with money. This is going to be a problem in the very near future.

Justin needs to see the field(no pun intended better). On the last of of the Thursday Night Football game they lost to Washington this past season, he missed Montgomery open in the left flat when he threw to Mooney.
