Who’s watching the Live Chris Rock Netflix special tonight???

That was not the best Chris Rock performance I have seen. He sounds like a bitter old man trying to be edgy. Him and Chapelle are starting to identify more with Kanye and Elon Musk than us. The slave shit, abortion shit, and Meghan Markle shit was a bit coonish. Black people know some racist shit when they experience it. The expectations were a bit too high tho.

And there's no coming back from that Will Smith slap. Just leave that shit alone. Jada didn't go after him when she said boycott the Oscars. He's a clown for defending the Oscars because they don't give a shit about black people. You a host nigga and that gig been over for you. He was going after her way before she said that shit. Her fucking August doesn't have shit to do with that slap. Squash that shit with Will or prepare for another round nigga.

I didn't hear that, and even after watching I still haven't heard that.
You haven't heard what? That it wasn't funny? Did you think it was funny? I didn't think his last special tambourine was funny at all. I cut that shit off halfway through after not even chuckling.

Out of curiosity, what's "Coonish" about the Meghan Markle shit?

He said that she was a fool for not thinking that the royal family would be racist.

The coon shit was talking about Draymond Green and his skin color, that was coonish.

I didn't think the clip that you posted was funny and I also didn't chuckle one bit.

It just goes to show that comedy's subjective. And by no means an I defending Chris. It's just you posted a clip that I'm guessing you think is funny like others and I didn't crack a smile.

It's comedy and everyone doesn't laugh at the same things.

I’m just glad he hit all the talking points about Will and Jada.
1. Your woman made you look like a bitch in front of the whole world.
2. Everybody called you a bitch for it.(Apparently Rock called him to check on him after the situation like a friend would)
3. You wild out on the smallest nigga you could.

Overall it was a decent special. Not his best but still good. Definitely better than Tamborine.

Things like this make me want to rewatch Eddie Murphy raw, in living color, I’m gonna get you sucka, house party, and old school def comedy jam.. real comedy has slowly died
All of this. I don't think Lil Rel is always funny, but I laughed a bit in this clip.

However, all of the comedies you named were hilariously funny and you can tell the difference.

Comedy has died a bit. I don't know if it's because people are so sensitive now that comedians don't really try to be funny for fear of stepping on toes or making people sad, or for fear of being canceled

netflix and white Hollywood is trying to destroy black art... with all the funny black comedians that are killin it now and u want to book cr who is past his prime

I agree Comedy has died not a bit but by a lot.

And I don't think it has to do with canceling or anyone being sensitive. It's just so many avenues to laugh that now we've seen and heard too much.

Most comedians aren't saying anything that we haven't seen, heard, thought or said. At least that's my experience.

So with all that, shit just don't be funny to us anymore.

And many talk about going back and watching old performances. Sadly many times those aren't as funny as they were back then either.

Times change, people change and many times what we find funny changes.

The Twitter "sistahood" gotta be some of the most miserable, insufferable bitches on the internet.

You literally can't criticize or even talk about a black woman without all of them acting the very existence of black women is at stake. Fuck em.
While rappers call them every name in the book and reduce them to cum buckets daily.

I heard this was funnier than Chris Rock's whole show

That was hilarious . The way he descrid it. I'm starting to think the slap was staged.

I wonder if this special was part of the $40 million 2 show deal...

Or did have to give Chris a bonus?

Especially as their FIRST live?

As a person that will watch old stuff from time to time I can definitely say a lot of things from back than still hold up today.. in fact I’m 1 of those individuals that will expose the younger generation to older material and they be loving it.. like I found a best of “man on films” from living color on YouTube.. had it playing at one of my peoples bizz and various diff groups of 20 to 30+ yr olds from chicks to dudes that were black or Latin was hearing it or peeping some of the segments were laughing their ass off and asking what is this or what link is it so they could watch the whole thing.. from watching Eddie Murphy raw, old def comedy jam segments, etc u’ll be surprised how many people never seen it and love that shit.. during these Covid yrs I really been big on listening to or showing diff generations forms of entertainment I grew up on.. definitely creates cool environments when socializing with others ( especially the opposite sex).. I even watched and had the Chris rock live special that night playing in a certain atmosphere and of course people were asking what it was, etc

Luckily for me I don't speak I absolutes so there's definitely many comedians and comedy shows from the past that stand the rest of them.

And there's many that don't.

And no I'm not giving you examples!
