BAYVILLE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A father is demanding accountability from a school in Ocean County, New Jersey, after his 14-year-old daughter took her own life a day after girls in her class beat her up.

The assault that happened in the school hallway was posted online, followed by online bullying that the girl's grieving father said caused his 14-year-old daughter, named Adriana, to take her own life.

The cell phone video was taken one week ago. Adriana died Friday.

"They think it's fun to attack people and take videos and post them," Adriana's father Michael Kuch said. "Getting hit with a water bottle didn't hurt Adriana, what hurt her was the embarrassment and humiliation, they just kept coming at her."

Kuch has not slept while trying to mourn his daughter and get justice for her.

The freshman was hit in the face with a full 20-ounce water bottle three times. On the video, she was punched and kicked and her hair was pulled, while classmates laughed and recorded the attack at school.

Her father says it was meaningless bullying. He says his daughter deserved none of this and was tormented after the videos were posted, as she read mean comments.

"Adriana was the most happy, beautiful young lady in the world, she loved animals," Kuch said.

According to her father, four girls have been charged with third-degree felony assault after her death.

Eyewitness News has not gotten confirmation from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. The school superintendent said in a statement, "this was a tragedy."

"My daughter actually blacks out and they don't call an ambulance, they take her to the nurses office," Kuch said.

There have been protests outside of school by parents and students, saying this has happened before, and must stop.

Kuch stresses there was no accountability and no consequences for the four girls who went after Adriana. He says that had there been, she may not have felt so terribly alone.

Kuch said that if the incident were taken seriously, if police and an ambulance were called and if the girls were punished or immediately expelled, he's convinced this would have been very different.

"My daughter's never been in a fight before, she's 98 pounds, 5'2'' and she loves everybody," Kuch said.

She was bullied and took her own life. Four were charged and an administrator has resigned.

BAYVILLE, N.J. – Four students have been charged and a school district superintendent has resigned after a recorded attack against a 14-year-old New Jersey student in the hallway of her school spread on social media in the days before her family says she took her own life.
One juvenile was charged with aggravated assault, two were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and one was charged with harassment, prosecutors in Ocean County, New Jersey, said Saturday.
All four juveniles and their guardians were given copies of the complaints and they were released pending future court appearances, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in an email Saturday.

The family of Adriana O. Kuch found her body on Feb. 3, two days after her beating beside school lockers at Central Regional High School in Bayville, her father has said.
The Central Regional School District announced Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides' resignation Saturday, but did not immediately provide any additional information.
The district said in a statement that it "is evaluating all current and past allegations of bullying."

"I do know why it happened," he said. "It happened because these two haven't liked each other for a couple years, and she had been threatening my daughter online."
After students at the high school participated in a walkout on Wednesday, Parlapanides wrote in a letter to parents that the protest interfered with "the learning process" and future "rallies" will need prior approval from the administration.

"I spoke with the student protestors in front of the school on Wednesday and offered to sit down and meet with them to discuss their concerns," said the prosecutor, Billhimer, who was at the high school again on Friday to meet with protest organizers for more than two hours.
Billhimer said he discussed ways to improve the district's response to school "incidents" during a meeting on Saturday with Parlapanides.
"I also shared some suggestions regarding staff changes as well as programming and services to respond to the needs of the students," Billhimer wrote.
Adriana was born in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Bayville seven years ago, according to her obituary. She was described as an animal lover and a girl who helped children with special needs.

In 2023 schools still don't want to address bullying at their schools, even when the schools know and the parents bring it to their attention they still want to look at it as “kids being kids“ and think if they just threaten the bully with a write/in school suspension that it will stop. The father should sue the school because I'm sure some teachers knew what was going on

Why? The father should've stepped up and handled this himself!!!
Dude can't physically do anything to the students. The next best thing, is to go after the parents. Once again not physically, but you can try financially. The threat of a lawsuit can get their kids to fall in line.

As for the school. They know which students are assholes or not. So they should be monitoring those kids closely.

I bet one of them little girls was dykes and probably tried to bully her

into being their bitch...

the truth is, she was waaay to sheltered and didnt know how fucked up

people can be in these streets..

how she come home FROM school all BRUISED up and the school is

NOT LIABLE... when its THEIR job to protect the students...

they just cold assaulted that girl she look like she was in a PRISON fight!!

no way should you child come home from school lookin like that....

A sister wouldve been at that school the next DAY regulating shit...

I seen many videos of parents going off on a childs classmates...

and NOW I understand more of why they do it..

to emotionally protect their child

because school administrators are USELESS AS FUCK

and only fuckin REACT instead of INITIATE!!!

I got it from here..

I was bullied in school. Poor, whack gear, awkward. Ninjas bullied me the first two years of middle school. When you’re an introvert you don’t realize your pluses for fear of the minuses. 8th grade, dude sat behind me in music class. Teachers and all knew I wasn’t in a good space. Dude is shooting spit balls through a straw at me. Close range! He takes his pencil and flicks the back of my ear and I-fucking-snapped! Before I knew it was out the desk, and slamming his face on the desks. Suspended from school a week, with a review to see if I can ever come back. Nothing happens to him. While suspended I mow some lawns and make enough money to join the police athletic league (PAL). I start boxing; all through the last semester and through summer. 9th grade, we get bussed to the same school. Soon as I see him in the locker row it was all work. WORK! Suspended first week of 9th grade with an another juvenile hearing. While suspended moms sends me to the store for some shit, I come out, them niggas jumped me. I tell my boy and we go looking for em. We catch one at Dairy Queen and work him. I’ve never stomper anybody after this. WORKED! I catch the main nigga coming out a record store and drop the bike, arms out like Ice Cube in Boys in da Hood. He loses again. Beef squashed. I told my mom and the school and nobody took it seriously. I boxed quietly into my 40’s in gyms everywhere life took me. To this day, if I hear about bullying I tell the kids to handle it themselves because adults ain’t listening. You gotta fight, win or lose. Fight. The first time my seed would come home talking about bullying he’s either boxing or martial arts off rip after we leave the school to warm facility that I’m only coming to view a body next time my seed is fucked with.

Short answer, start fucking people up. Immediately. Your child is gonna get suspended. Ignore it, let em work. Tell your seed it’s okay to be scared. That’s the most important part. Once they’re okay with talking about it, get into a gym or dojo and give it to the school in writing your seed a full permission to WORK!!!

This sounds good in your day and mine.

Kids barely old enough to get hard are shooters now.

Your kid whips ass and the bully gotta face ridicule at school and online...he's coming back with a gun cause his whole worldview is school.

If my kid is dead, I don't have anything left in life. The lives of her bully's parents mean nothing.
