They're not following Kathleen because she's a great leader (it's shown she's not). They're following her because her brother was a great leader and was killed by FEDRA. They're feeding off her emotions and desire for revenge. I'm sure if things had stayed the way they were, Perry would have replaced her as leader.
This was good episode. Love the changes they made for the Henry and Sam story. You can start to see the changes in Ellie and how she's getting less emotional and attached.

Idk. wasn't in the game, They just wanted to make a emmy bait bottle episode which didn't connect to the story or improve the story at all.

get back to the story line....

The Bloater..? In the game i think the only way to kill those is with plenty of grenades
The longer they stay infected, they mutate to more powerful creatures. If they make another season you will see them turn to some crazy shit. Will make that bloater seem tame.
Finally got to Episode 5, I'm going to see this play out.

Episode 4 - 5
Just finished these two episodes this morning.
Season is proceeding good in my opinion. Like I stated early, it’s gonna be a slow burn series.
With these episodes on how they are playing out, the main theme is about the characters and how life in this world is affecting them.
The infected are just there in the background. This is not gonna be a series with each episode overloaded with wall-to-wall action of the characters killing infected. If you want that, go play the game.
I love the CGI being used showing the devastation of this world. I liked how they showed a Love’s Truck Stop and a FedEx Freight facility being I frequent those places as a OTR driver.
My future ex-wife Melanie Lynsky made her debut in these episodes. Her character was shown as we saw mainly being focused on her emotional attachment to losing her brother, instead of focusing on proceeding in making life better for folks in Kansas City. Which led to her and the whole cities downfall.
The two brothers was interesting. The older brother dealing with the guilt of what he did, that emotional stress and trying to care for his little brother eventually led to his downfall.
Episode 5 bringing in the infected for that big battle played out well with that swarm of infected pouring out like cockroaches.
Gonna let a couple of episodes stack up again before watching.
