No surprise. She and manchin were bound to switch. I'm mildly surprised she went independent but upon further thought she's trying not to alienate a portion of her base by going full reichpublican.
I suspect manchin will go full reichpublican and now the senate is in their hands, 49-51 because Harris only breaks ties.

The Republicans won't likely win the whitehouse but it's like 34 seats up for reelection if I recall. 23 are Democrat and 11 are Republicans. The math does not work in Democrats favor. I don't see this going well for the senate unless they can figure out a way to get some stuff done. Yes gerrymandering obviously is the main reason they lost the house I agree with that.

The Senate can still pass bills that Congress has already voted on and sent over though. Chuck Shumer has promised a Voting Rights bill and a Roe Codification if they won back the Senate.

Dems need to do a better job of vetting undercover Repubs...Dems are a centrist, slightly right party nowadays so the only independent types they should be letting in are leftist types like Sanders...if you are right of today's Dems you are pretty much a moderate Republican

Nah. She voted against stuff that the Dems were trying to do enough times that she would of lost if another Dem were to primary her. This is to keep her seat cause she knows if a Dem runs now it would split the vote.
It might be worth it to get rid of her ass.

They already have had someone in mind to take her out in 24. With this she doesn't have to worry about getting primaries. But I hope her clown ass is voted out for the bullshit that she's pulled.
Everyone should be an Independent. My only issue is the switch at this time and not informing the people who voted for you what you are. That's some shady self-serving shit. Be upfront on who you are when people vote for you and follow through with what they expected.
