Yellowstone season 5 is off to a great start and of course they had to provide a gut punch
for the opener. Every character is still on point and some on edge that provides for a lot of suspense because i dont know what kind of chess moves characters will make and what harm it will do.

Tulsa King
Sylvester Stallone is really great in this. Combination of a kind of fish out of water theme mixed with humor and an involving story about how Stallone character chafes at his new settings

Reasonable Doubt
Very good season finale with a couple of twists i didnt see coming. Im glad they didnt go with what would have been an obvious plot twist

White Lotus season 2
The different characters are so interesting to watch as they struggle with their own insecurities and addictions and it all plays
out in a scenic settings. I like how the layers are peeled back on the characters and it's revealed what their true natures are.

Finished We Own This City yesterday evening. Great series start to finish. So many levels of corruption at play.

A few more episodes to go with season 3 of Barry. The motorbike scene(s) were excellent. Loved the way they shot that.

Gonna pick up with episode 3 of Stranger Things' latest season soon. Solid thus far.

Good 2nd season of Hacks thus far. The roadtrip element has been interesting to watch play out, and I like how they are pairing people off for certain scenes and dynamics. I.E. - Deborah and Ava will always be in many scenes together ... but also doing Kayla-Jimmy, Marcus-Ava, Ava and her mom, etc. Good to see the dynamic with Deborah and the woman from her past in comedy. You weren't sure how that was gonna play out entirely, and seeing where they both were in life & career at this point in time. Funny to see local actor Devon Sawa brought in for ep 6. As I've mentioned previously - knew him growing up. Family lived locally and played league sports with him for a time.

Enjoyed the first 2 episodes of the new season of Yellowstone too.

Thought the Tulsa King pilot was pretty good as well. Glancing online - the reviews have been mixed from critics, but I was fine with it. Enjoyed seeing the smaller town feel, and of course Stallone's exchanges with different younger people.

White Lotus continues to be good. Like you said JBlaze, the layers are slowly peeled back on the characters and you learn more about them over time. Also, the season is half over and they can go in any type of direction(s) with it. Not formulaic or predictable. Who will be the true antagonist(s) of the season?

On the latter half of season 2 of The Deuce presently. Going to check out episode 6 tonight or tomorrow.

Checked out ep 5 of American Gigolo yesterday. Jon Bernthal is always good in his roles, and we've been enjoying the secondary characters too. Not a real fan of Rosie O'Donnell over the past 20 years. Seemed to court controversy and attention with some of her antics in the public eye, etc. But I will say I've really been liking her role in this series. It suits her well ... she is NOT overplaying it and she's believable. Pleasantly surprised by that.

All caught up with Shantaram - checked out ep 7 the other day. Good stuff, as always.

Need to circle back to Boardwalk Empire. Haven't watched season 1 for a few weeks.

The English on Amazon Prime is very good so far im 2 episodes in and Emily Blunt as Lady Cornelia Locke
Chaske Spencer as Sgt. Eli Whipp/Wounded Wolf have great chemistry . Great look at the west before it was tamed.
The cinematography by Arnau Valls Colomer is amazing

Lopez vs Lopez- Something light when ya want to laugh. George Lopez pretty much doing sitcom format again with cussing...

Rap Sh!t on HBO Max been pretty entertaining. Love the bitch that's the star. I live for her nudes scenes

Shantaram- loved the book. Like glad I have eyes and a mind to be able to understand. Sorry it's one of my favorites but I have yet to start series

American Horror Stories- I like these. Each ep is its own thing, done of them connected to larger series, if you like AHS check for the anthology

Working my way through this seasons Atlanta

Glad you loved the book. The series is worth checking out. We're gonna watch the recent 8th episode in the next few days. Been recommending the series to one of my coworkers as he read the book previously. He's been watching Thrones, Rings, Andor, and Welcome to Wrexham of late.

Gonna start checking it out soon. We have a few episodes to go with season 2 of The Deuce, season 1 of American Gigolo, and season 1 of Boardwalk Empire.

Kevin Can F*** Himself

Anyone plan on checking out this series? Interesting premise and the way it's shot ...

Kevin Can F**k Himself is an American dark comedy television series created by Valerie Armstrong, who also serves as an executive producer. It follows Allison McRoberts, a sitcom wife played by Annie Murphy, who escapes her confines and becomes the lead of her own life, using a format which blends both the multiple-camera setup typical of many mainstream American sitcoms when Allison is with her husband Kevin, and the single-camera setup more common to contemporary television when she is away from him.[1]

It premiered on AMC+ on June 13, 2021, and will debut on AMC on June 20, 2021.[2]

I watched the pilot episode this afternoon.

It is a interesting series. It is a Dark Comedy that somewhat has a Sci-Fi/ Thriller feel to it.

I will say before going forward, if you are a In-Cell, Woman hating cat, don't bother reading further and do not bother watching the series.

What makes the series interesting is that it is two series in one. One part is filmed like a standard TV Sitcom that is brightly lit that you will see on the major networks. It is filmed like "Home Improvement" and "King From Queens" and other sitcoms like it. The other part is filmed on film and is much darker when viewed similar to dramas like "Sons Of Anarchy" and "Justified".

Those standard TV sitcoms that you are familiar with over the past 40 years, they were male dominated series. The Husband went thru the episodes as a bumbling goof saying stupid shit and there will be the laugh track after his jokes which usually were corny. The husband would always forget their wedding anniversary, the wife's birthday or some special occasion or event earlier in their life. The Wife was always the butt of his jokes. And the husband's relatives, friends and co-workers would joke on the wife at her expense with the standard laugh track.

And that is basically how the series starts and plays out. When you watch, the scenes with the wife, husband, relatives and friends is in sitcom format. When the wife steps out of the room, it changes to the other format and you will see how she is upset with her marriage and life with her dumbass husband. It goes back and forth thru the episode.

The series is from the wife's point of view, not the husband's.

What is not explained at this point is what is the real life and what is the fake life. The pilot episode did have one scene when one relative was seen in the dark version. And there was another scene with the husband/relatives in the dark version (I won't spoil what happens but it's a dark, graphic scene). Both were quick scenes so it was hard to determine what was going on in relation to the sitcom part.

It's also not clear if the wife is going thru severe depression, suicidal or having a mental breakdown. It's also not clear if any of what we are seeing is real or fantasy or what.

Like any series, I suspect clues were in the first episode, but I most likely did not pick them up. I will re-watch the pilot later and then make a decision to watch future episodes.

And this does not seem to be a series to watch weekly. It comes off more as a binge series. So I might have the episodes stack up before I re-watch in the near future.

The series is Executive Produced by Rashida Jones

I finished and watched season 2 this afternoon.

I originally didn’t have plans to continue the series, but amc announced it was the final season and would come to a conclusion, I changed my mind and decided to watch it.

The 2nd season goes into a different direction with Allison going from trying to kill Kevin, into more of a character study of Allison and some of the main supporting characters.

Not gonna spoil it. But we get a different perspective of Allison in the 2nd season.

The last 20 minutes of the last episode goes completely unexpected. We get to see the “Real” Kevin from how he was shown in the “Sitcom” version.

For the gay agenda trackers, there is a BW/WW lesbian relationship. All that is shown is kissing, embracing and in bed together.

The series ended, but it was somewhat left off for future continuity or a movie.

If you watch this series, I recommend not trying to binge watch it. Watch 1 or 2 episodes at one sitting to allow it too soak in. It’s not a binge watchable series.

Overall, it is different from everything else out right now. So if you looking for something different, you might enjoy it.

And, it’s not a series to watch if you are a confirmed InCell and hate seeing women portrayed as if they are better than Men.

It gets a 6/10 rating from me.

Thanks for the recap. The character study of Allison sounds good / interesting.

Dead to Me
2019

7/10

I binged this series back in 2020 during the shutdown. This is one of the series in my list that’s been sitting in limbo. Going thru Netflix and saw season 3 is debuting soon.

For whatever reason, Netflix's algorithm highly recommended me this flick back in late 2019.

I mainly watched it cuz I like looking at Christina and Linda. They look like a couple of skinny MILF's you see in Costco.

It's a dark, comedy-drama and done pretty well. It's Executive Produced by Will Ferrell.

Season 1 and are 10 episodes each that run at 30 minutes each.

For you keyboard militants, Linda has a interracial relationship with a Black cop. All they show is kissing and cuddling. There is no Gay stuff in the two seasons.

And Netflix is allowing the series to officially come to a end instead of abruptly cancelling it like they normally do on their service.

Synopsis

Jen's husband recently died in a hit-and-run, and the sardonic widow is determined to solve the crime. Optimistic free spirit Judy has recently suffered a tragic loss of her own. The ladies meet at a support group and, despite their polar-opposite personalities, become unlikely friends. As the women bond over bottles of wine and a shared affinity for "The Facts of Life," Judy tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. The dark comedy -- which explores the weirdly funny sides of grief, loss and forgiveness.

Season 3
Teaser Trailer Final Season
Debuts November 17, 2022

Dead To Me

Finished the Series Finale this morning.

They closed out all the stories well, brought back a number of characters to close their characters out.

The crazy hijinks from the first 2 seasons is not played out in the finale season. The season mainly focuses on closing everything out and introducing new chapters in the characters lives.

If you watch the trailer or series, in the final season you will notice Christina Applegate has a major weight gain. I found out last month while at a truck stop watching TV, she has been diagnosed with MS. The weight gain is a result.

Christina Applegate’s early MS symptoms make it clear that the disease can be mistaken for everyday aches. Here’s what you need to know

They work the weight gain into the season, I won’t spoil it.

For The Foot Fiends, the last episode of the Series has a good scene showing Christina and Linda’s feet side by side. I was shocked to see Christina with ashy, crappy soles. I will give her the benefit of the doubt due to the MS.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is LW/WW lesbo action. All that is shown is kissing and cuddling in bed. The series overall has two gay men, nothing is shown.

Overall it’s a dark, humor series. If you looking for something to watch with your girl that’s not a full blown “Chick Series” this will suffice, she and you will enjoy it.

Thanks for the review. I listened to a recap the other day and they liked it as well. Said it was done respectfully and on-set accomodations were made to help with Applegate's comfortability. Not having to make her walk too far. Having stuff she could lean on, or a cane off-camera for support, etc.

One of my dad's aunts developed MS in her early-70s. Fortunately it didn't slow her down too much. Over time she became more tired, but she lived until just prior to her 92nd birthday. She'd be turning 94 next week if she were still around. In the end it was a combination of things that brought her to rest - MS, shingles, dementia, COVID. She was in a care facility, but had the support of her sister, brother-in-law and nieces / cousins that lived in her city. They got plenty of visits with her PRIOR to COVID ... as she was staying at another facility which was really close and optimal to her sister's house. Sister is in her mid-80s now and the main caretaker for her 88yo husband, but is getting home support nurses to help her with some of the day-to-day and lifting, showering, etc.

Saw the first 2 episodes of Wednesday earlier on yesterday.

Thought it was pretty good & will check out more eps in the weeks ahead.

Full season available on Netflix.

7.5/10

*warning* If You Suffer From TV ADHD, Don’t Bother Reading Forward.

If you enjoyed the Netflix series “Dark”, you will definitely enjoy this cuz this series is made by the same people.

This series deals with time, space, reality, perception and the mind. That’s the best I can do to not spoil it.

I will say the first episode is a major slow burn with character introduction. The next two episodes deal with character development and story development. Towards the end of episode 3 the series picks up pace and continues with no filler or slow time until the last scene which will definitely get you hooked into this series.

I had doubts about it cuz the trailer was interesting and I am hesitant to get into any new series cuz Netflix love’s cancelling shit abruptly.

The producers have stated this will be a 3 season run, similar to “Dark” and a conclusion has already been worked out.

The season has 8 episodes that run about 50 minutes.

Also, hardcore fans have stated to not watch the series in English. The characters are multicultural and they speak their native tongue thru-out. Fans have stated by watching it in English it takes away from the complexity and misunderstandings between the characters. They advise watching with English subtitles and play it as the way the Producers designed it.

Fans say switch off this Netflix setting if you want ‘1899’ to make sense

I watched the first episode with subtitles. I’m not a subtitle person so I mainly watched the first episode to get an idea of the nationalities of the characters. I watched the other 7 episodes in English and had no issues understanding what was going on or felt like I missed something from translation.

For the Militants, there is some interracial tension between a BM/WW, nothing is shown but of them holding hands.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is a relationship between LM/LM. Nothing is shown graphically. There is a sexual scene between a WM/LM that isn’t graphic, but it gets to the point and it definitely ain’t pushing no agenda.

The series has a kick ass soundtrack playing the right songs at the right time.

Synopsis

Immigrants on a steamship travelling from London to New York get caught up in a mysterious riddle after finding a second vessel adrift on the open sea.

5/10

This is a Hulu short I stumbled across while looking for something else.

It’s only 11 minutes long.

It’s something different if you into stuff like that.

For the Militants, there is BM/WW romance.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is a scene with male masturbation and rear male nudity.

Synopsis

A mosquito falls in love with a man after it tastes his blood.

1899 is gonna get really weird later.

What we saw in the last scene of the season finale, it’s gonna go further beyond that once we find out what her brother is up too.

And I suspect their is somebody higher than him.
hell when does the next season start

1899 is a multilingual German epic period mystery-science fiction streaming television series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. It premiered on Netflix on 17 November 2022.[1] It has received mostly positive critical reviews, with praise going towards the casting, directing, cinematography, and acting, though the pacing was occasionally criticized as too slow. The creators have ideas for two more seasons.[2]

hell when does the next season start

Season 2 has not been confirmed being the series just debuted.

It’s ranking high on Netflix right now and has lots of buzz.

If the producers told Netflix they only have 3 seasons made out, good chance it will be renewed.

But a series like this with big SFX/VFX on Netflix, it takes about two years to get the next season out, so the earliest is 2024. Similar to Stranger Things and the Witcher.

Space Force
2020

6.5/10

This is a satire sitcom of the newly formed US Space Force.

The show is funny, but its not flat out funny.

The premise of the show is Steve Carell's General Naird who is promoted to 4 star general and then drafted to head the new Space Force as it's first Chief. The show is mainly about him and his interactions with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, colleagues and his personal life that affects his decisions on his job.

The show gives comedy toward the military that active duty and veterans will get. They do a decent job of doing it so folks with no experience with the military will understand, but there are inside jokes. The scenes with the Joint Chiefs are some of the best scenes.

They make fun of politics that are involved with space exploration and various social and cultural issues. They have a female politician modelled after US Rep. Alexandria Cortez. John malkovich co-stars and gives a good performance doing a slight satire of "Dr. Strangelove".

Other actors are good and are cast well for the parts they play. Fred Willard co-stars in it and passed away before the show airs. They give a tribute at the start of episode one. Not sure how they will handle his character in season 2.

The show is laced with jokes against Trump and his wife done in a subtle way on showing how ignorant he is.

For the keyboard militants, Malkovich character is gay, nothing is shown. And there is some growing interracial tension between the black female helicopter pilot and the asian male scientist.

There is no eye candy on the show.

It's a good show to watch, not sure if you want to binge it like I did. It's no better or worse than other sitcom's out there.

There are 10 episodes at 30 minutes each.

If you are a big fan of Steve Carell's work from SNL, The Daily Show and The Office, you will enjoy this.

Synopsis

Space Force is a workplace comedy series that centers on a group of people tasked with establishing the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces, the United States Space Force. Carell's character, Mark Naird, is the general in charge of the effort and the series follows his collaboration to get "boots on the moon" per the orders of the President.

It’s looking like a Season 2 will debut early next year.

I would hold off watching until a trailer is released. Update soon…

Interesting Conspiracy Sci-Fi series on the use of Drones in society.

The season is 10 episodes. The show progress' slowly but it is done that way to show you the technology, how it affects society and culture and peoples way of living.

Synopsis

In a future in which each citizen is monitored 24/7 by a drone, a woman discovers a murder unaccounted by this surveillance system, and investigates why.

Sweet Home
2020

6.5/10

This is a horror series that plays out more like a character drama.

It debuted around December of last year and I been watching about a episode a week.

This is a slow series. It's why I been watching about a episode a week.

It does have action and suspense in each episode, but it's not enough to hold you. This is not a series if you suffer from TV ADHD, if you suffer from it, you will not make it past episode one for sure.

The SFX and VFX is done well with the monsters and violence. The series looks godd and clean visually. The premise is interesting and it does play out well.

For the Thirsty, there are a couple of cuties in the series. No nudity or sexy outfits are worn, so don't get yourself excited.

If you looking for something to watch to stretch out over some time, this should do. There are 10 episodes that run for about 45min.

The series is from Korea and Netflix has it dubbed in English. Subtitles are used when signage is shown.

Synopsis

As humans turn into savage monsters, one troubled teenager and his neighbours fight to survive and to hold onto their humanity.

This is a good thriller series from Russia. The series was developed and created back in 2019 long before anybody was thinking of Covid-19.

If you are a conspiracy theorist thinking the Govt is somehow involved with the virus. This is your show.

The premise is nothing new and nothing spectacular. But the series puts a new spin on the subject.

The series is mainly character based and deals with character development thru-out unlike other series like it where they do it in the first episode. Not much is given on the virus and its very rarely dealt with thru-out the series. The premise is mainly on how folks react to the event.

There is a lot of predictable moments thru-out the series, but when they happen there usually is a twist or different way it ends. There are a large number of "I Was Not Expecting That" moments thru-out. Whoever created, directed and wrote for the series plays on that thru-out which makes it interesting.

The series is very slow placed, but each episode has its moments of suspense that will keep you interested. If you suffer from TV ADHD, you will have to deal with it as the show plays out. Episode 6 gives you insight on the main characters past which will explain their behavior and relationships that happened in earlier episodes.

If you want to watch it with your girl. There is a interesting sub-plot with the main male character and the 2 women who are part of his life and he has a child with each one. Their story and how it plays out will definitely interest your girl and you.

Violence is minimal but graphic. There is female nudity with good shots of boobs, booty's and some groin area, not much for male nudity, just butt shots. There are a few sex scenes, nothing graphic or exciting.

There are 8 episodes running about 50 minutes each. Being this is a very slow paced show, I would not recommend binge watching it. It took me the past 3 weeks to view all the episodes to allow me to watch and soak them in. I usually watched 1 or 2 episodes a sitting.

Netflix has it dubbed in English. When you start watching it, the voices don't seem to match up with the characters look. It kind of has the feel of those 1970s era Kung-Fu flick. You get over it by the end of episode 2.

If you looking for something interesting to watch being not much new is coming out on network TV, theaters or anywhere else, this should hold you over.

And with the last scene and some other events in the season finale, it looks like season 2 is gonna kick it into full gear with action.

Season 2 came out this past Spring.

For whatever reason, it has not been released on US Netflix service. There is a trailer on youtube you want to see it.

It was one of those show’s Netflix flooded their service with back in 2020 when the pandemic shutdown filming around the world.

Netflix had debuted shows around the world on all the Netflix services to fill in the gap.

No word if it will be released in the US.
