TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

I caught 4 episodes of the 1st season. Definitely funny.

I need to circle back to a few comedies ... this one ... What We Do in the Shadows, and Derry Girls.

I use to watch Derry girls after the Inbetweeners ended. I think I lost track of it because of all the other shows I was watching.

Same. I think I caught the first 3 eps. Well written show. I need to circle back on Fleabag too ... caught 3 - 4 eps of it but lost it in the shuffle of shows.

Dead to Me
2019

7/10

I binged this series back in 2020 during the shutdown. This is one of the series in my list that’s been sitting in limbo. Going thru Netflix and saw season 3 is debuting soon.

For whatever reason, Netflix's algorithm highly recommended me this flick back in late 2019.

I mainly watched it cuz I like looking at Christina and Linda. They look like a couple of skinny MILF's you see in Costco.

It's a dark, comedy-drama and done pretty well. It's Executive Produced by Will Ferrell.

Season 1 and are 10 episodes each that run at 30 minutes each.

For you keyboard militants, Linda has a interracial relationship with a Black cop. All they show is kissing and cuddling. There is no Gay stuff in the two seasons.

And Netflix is allowing the series to officially come to a end instead of abruptly cancelling it like they normally do on their service.

Synopsis

Jen's husband recently died in a hit-and-run, and the sardonic widow is determined to solve the crime. Optimistic free spirit Judy has recently suffered a tragic loss of her own. The ladies meet at a support group and, despite their polar-opposite personalities, become unlikely friends. As the women bond over bottles of wine and a shared affinity for "The Facts of Life," Judy tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. The dark comedy -- which explores the weirdly funny sides of grief, loss and forgiveness.

Nobody fuckin with RAISING KANAN or even THE SERPENT QUEEN on starz? I realized ain’t been much chat on those
I watch Raisin Kanan but there are so many other good shows on right now some series about drug dealers is not peaking my interests. Will probably watch on a later date. Serpent Queen looks interesting, I will catch that later too.

Werewolf By Night
This was highly entertaining from its classic horror film look and Hammer films style. Great to see characters I've only seen in comic books . A lot of cool humor and kills. Some nice twists and turns.I like how they added the old school change the film reel cue mark
WBN looks great in black & white but Disney+ also knew they could avoid a lot of ranting from the ultra monitors of the streaming services by presenting it this way.
I hope there's more to come.

She Hulk
Episode was perfection . Chemistry between the characters. Perfect balance of comedy and action
Bring on the new Daredevil series

Let The Right One In is off to a good start sure it wont be like the films but they are building a good foundation for the characters and i was immediately pulled in

Let the right one in episode 1 was pretty good. Finally and hopefully a decent modern day vampire series.

Going to be wrapping up The Wire rewatch in the next week or two.

A few episodes to go with The Patient.

Continuing with Justified (season 1) and a few episodes into season 1 of The Deuce.

Going to try and see Gangs of London (season 1) in the near future too ... with season 2 quickly approaching.

Going to be starting Boardwalk Empire shortly, and probably Tin Star in the near future. Had been meaning to check this series out in recent years. Anyone else see it? Have watched the first 15 minutes. Looks great with the landscape / drone shots of the region.

Tin Star (2017-2020) is a British television crime drama created by Rowan Joffé. The series focuses on Jim Worth, a former London Metropolitan Police Service detective who becomes chief of police of a Canadian town in the Rocky Mountains. It stars Tim Roth, Genevieve O'Reilly, Abigail Lawrie, Oliver Coopersmith and Christina Hendricks.[3]

The series premiered on Sky Atlantic on 7 September 2017, and became available on Amazon Video internationally on 29 September.[4] Series 2 premiered 24 January 2019.[5] The third and final series takes place in Liverpool, England.[6] Production for the series commenced in 2019,[7] with all episodes airing in December 2020.

She Hulk Season Finale
Nice nod to the 70's series. Made me wonder if this series would have been more widely viewed and accepted if they used practical effects. They broke the fourth wall to the EXTREME. A couple of surprises, Some laughs but basically this finale is what it was for most of the season

The Family
2019

8.5/10

This docu-series debuted on Netflix a few years back.

The series gives in-depth information on this far-right wing Christian Conservative group with a heavy influence in Washington DC politics. They are also known as “The Fellowship”.

They have been around since the 1950s. They sponsor “The National Prayer Breakfast” which has been attended by every President since Eisenhower.

Majority of Americans had no clue they existed until around 2011. That’s when former US Senator John Ensign, NV (R) resigned due to his extra-marital affair, which exposed a shit load of craziness in Washington politics.

If you believe there are shadow groups working behind the scenes calling the shots, this series is for you.

It’s a 5 part series.

Synopsis

An enigmatic conservative Christian group known as the Family wields strong influence in Washington, D.C., in pursuit of its global ambitions.

Has anyone checked out any of this new series? Hadn't heard about it - but noticed it on one of the streaming sites (3 eps available). Might check it out in the future.

Shantaram is a drama thriller television series created by Eric Warren Singer and Steve Lightfoot, based on the novel of the same name by Gregory David Roberts.[1] The story drew inspiration from Roberts' own life, which is about a bank robber from Australia who flees the country to India. The series will consist of twelve episodes directed by Justin Kurzel and Bharat Nalluri. Steve Lightfoot joined as showrunner after Eric Warren Singer departed the project. It is produced by The 4 Keys, Bohemian Risk Productions, Square Head Productions, Anonymous Content and Paramount Television Studios and was distributed by Apple Inc. for their streaming service, Apple TV+. The series premiered on October 14, 2022.[2]

Watched the first episode, It was pretty good. Good acting and high quality production as you would expect from Apple.

Thought it was good too. Checked it out today. Talked to a coworker and he noted he had read the book. Said it is quite extensive at 936 pages! They have plenty of material they can work with for this tv adaptation.
