That aint what he saying but ok.
He feels that comedians can cross the line to make people laugh.
It aint just about dick jokes.

Some people might not like the joke (Will Smith) but he should be able to say what he wants.

Some interesting replies in here. Finna bookmark some to revisit on da inevitable day that a thread is made about Black folks being talked down on and disrespected.

You gonna slap a comedian for doing their job?
Does anyone slap you for doing your job?

Bro, we are the same age and I know you know Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles and Archie Bunker and the Jefferson's.

Everyone was saying the n-words. It is comedy. You can say off the wall shit.

Funny thing is back then the n-word wasn't even that popular. It was taboo to use in any other form.

Now it is in every R&B song much less rap song.

So please stop. Stop.
Stop what? Yes, you could use the n-word in comedic form, but the difference between those days and today is a hell of a lot of years. And in those hell of a lot of years it became less and less acceptable for white people to use it at all

For Richard Pryor to give George Carlin (didn't happen just making a point) permission to use the word in 1970 is a hell of a lot different than Chris Rock giving Louis CK permission to use it in 2020 (or whenever that was).

I admit to making excuses to use it back in the 90s when I was young. Saying that there was a difference between it ending with er and it ending with a, and though there is a difference in how it is used, we're the only culture that uses such a hateful word in conversations with each other

You ever heard two latino saying, "What's up my sp*c?"

I hate that it's in every song on the radio now in R&B and rap, but there's nothing I can do about that. It is too deeply ingrained for us to do anything about it now

But will what we cannot do is allow white people to say it and get away with it, cuz fuck all that

Ok. Interesting points brother. I agree with you that times have changed and you want to change with them. Ok. Cool.
My old ass still likes it how it was!! I wanna fucking laugh!

I don't agree with the n-word just being used for no reason but if it is comedy and it is part of the story then why the fuck not!!!!!!!

Latinos are about family. They dont say sp*c.

Asians hate each other just like blacks do.

They call each other ch*nks.

I know that I may be in the minority, but Chris Rock has never been funny. I won't knock his hustle. But he couldn't pay me to sit through one of his shows.

When I think of funny comedians, I think of Eddie, Dave, Katt, Patrice, and Bernie. But never Chris.

Chris ain't never been funny to me. The only shit I enjoyed was when he was pookie in New Jack City. For a whole generation of us when we think of a crackhead Chris Rock. Other than that he's an opportunist coon. Glad he got slapped he heading down the Kanye road full speed.

I hear you fam. I want to laugh too, and believe me I do

I was just sitting here thinking about how many different ways that we can say "Nigga" and it means something different

Someone cut you off - Nigga

Your boy dozed off and it's his turn - Nigga

You haven't seen somebody in a long time that you used to be cool with - Nigga

Somebody did some personal affront shit - Nigga

You about two steps off somebody's ass - Nigga

I could go on. But you my man a hundred grand bro.

This is what grown folks do. We have discussions. And even if we don't agree or if we agree to disagree we have discussions.

All time coon bit in the history of comedy.
Naw. Chris said after this comedy special, cacs would repeat lines from this. In front of him. While he was out and about. And after a while he decided not to perform. Any of the jokes from the special ever again.

So that is literally the definition of cooning bro lol
The fuck?

I never have either. He tries hard as fuck to be funny making funny faces and shit. Chappelle just sits back smoking a newport being funny as fuck with zero effort.

Wow i completely disagree

And I would bet good money Chappelle would too

Chris Rock show proves that

But again comedy is subjective

So all that is valid.

just imagine if bernie Mac was still living, he would've had a lot of these bitches losing their shit and they wouldn't do a damn thing to him.

bernie mac wouldn't had let another man slap him.

people in this generation is too damn sensitive about shit.

Comedy ain't what it used to be anymore.

This is what often happens often some black entertainers make it big. In Chris Rock's case now that he's rich his focus is more on not offending white people than defending black people via his comedic routines. His schtick now is emphasizing the negative shit some black people do not realizing, or not caring, that doing so reinforces white people's convenient belief that we're all that way.

Just look at who Chris pals around with these days and gives a pass to for their anti black racist comments in the name of comedy, people like Louis C. K, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, Ricky Gervais, Mario Lopez, David Spade and George Lopez to name a few.

Personally I do not care for Chris Rock, or any black comedian who verbally buck dances for white peoples enjoyment by always emphasizing negative behavior in the black community as if we are the only group exhibiting such behavior. Shitting on your own for laughs is not funny to me.

Last thing I'll say is the only thing Will Smith did wrong in slapping Chris was apologizing for doing so. :hmm:

She probably has a book coming out. Heard Charlemagne mention that she has a Breakfast Club interview coming up. Controversy is good publicity.

Also I need to hear the bit myself and form my own opinion. I’m not taking the word of some random woman, they rarely understand funny.

Then why don't you listen to the bit before throwing shade at her for what she said. At least she spoke on what she actually saw, you on the other hand are not. To say that she being a woman would rarely understand funny is ridiculous on its face. Maybe its just a matter that she recognizes a sell-out a coon when she sees and hears one. :hmm:

Maybe, but is she wrong? I mean, when Chris Rock said that Louis CK could say the n-word, he lost a ton of cool points with me on that one. Plus, I saw his last Netflix special and I didn't think it was funny at all

Jack answered me here.

His statement that there's black people and then there's niggas isn't wrong BUT although we know it's the truth, White people began using that as a way to differentiate US, and fuck them for that

I had to check too many White people on, "Godofwine, you're one of the good ones."

THE FUCK YOU MEAN

Then they be all...

Chris Rock didn't start this. This has been a thing like forever

I understand comedy. Comedy is about playing around the edges, sometimes offending people. I'm not saying she can't be offended but I'm not taking her word or your word for what's funny. Repeating comedians lines verbatim and out of context is whack. Here's a great example to drive my point home from the late great Patrice O'Neal:

Yeah okay... But then again ya think maybe you aren't offended because Rock wasn't stereotypically demeaning Latinos? :hmm:
