How much can an individual soldier loot there? This ain’t “Three Kings” or Kelly’s Heroes”.
Part of it is that "grifting" is a perk in the Russian AF the higher up you go...
I guarantee those "missing" uniforms will end up here just like the rations in the first few months of this bullshit
The other part is that life in Moscow and St. Petersburg is completely different from the rest of the country especially the rural regions where the bulk of the troops are coming from right now. Places like Dagestan et al. don't always have indoor plumbing so of course the first things they seek out are washing machines etc.
More than one-fifth of Russian households do not have access to indoor plumbing, according to official statistics obtained by the RBC news website on Tuesday.

Russian television has broadcast an interview with a grieving mother and father who proudly bought a new Lada car with "coffin money" given to them after their son was killed in Ukraine.
The interview was broadcast on Russia-1 as part of a propaganda package on how the Kremlin helps families of dead soldiers, although it also contained remarkable references to the heavy toll of the war.
The segment was apparently broadcast in all of Russia, except Moscow.
In the video, the parents of 33-year-old Senior Sergeant Alexei Malov sit in the drab sitting room of their house in a village near Saratov, a city of 800,000 people in central Russia.
The Lada or refrigerator/washing machine the families of dead russian soldiers are buying is the best case scenario. Many dont really get anything from the State except for what was looted for them

The problem in rural place is bad enough you see these types of reactions
It could be worse than just getting compensated with a looted washing machine, refrigerator etc. The Chechens give out onions, potatoes, rice and cooking oil...
