Black gun rights activists demand ‘closed borders’ in Austin protest

A group of armed black Second Amendment activists marched through Austin over the weekend and called on the US to close its borders and put an end to illegal immigration.

The protesters, gathered together by the Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club, moved through the city toward the Texas Capitol on Saturday in what they called the “Second Amendment Unity Walk.”

As they marched through the streets, the activists chanted in support of closed borders and against immigration, according to footage shot by journalist Ford Fischer.

“What do we want?” one protester asked.

“Closed borders,” the group yelled back.

“When do we want it?” the protestor asked.

“Now,” the group replied.

In another chant, the protesters told immigrants to go back to their home countries.

“Immigrants, we’ve been here,” a woman yelled into a megaphone. “Take your a– home,” the group chanted in response.

One woman attempted to start a “Build the wall” chant in reference to former President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to construct a border wall between the US and Mexico.

However, her attempt didn’t go over well.

“Yeah, let’s not do that,” one person replied. :D

Following the march, Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club founder Nick Bezzel said the group isn’t opposed to immigration but takes issue with illegal immigration.

“A lot of times, jobs are taken away from black people because of illegal immigration,” Bezzel said. “Black people are locked out from employment due to illegal immigration, so we want to stop illegal immigration so black people can make living wages.”

The group’s calls for an end to illegal immigration come as Republican state leaders like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey have shipped migrants from their states to liberal sanctuary cities and towns like New York City, Washington, DC, and Martha’s Vineyard.

The black gun rights group’s key demands, however, were for reparations for the descendants of slaves and a hate crime bill to specifically protect black Americans.

“There is a debt owed to black Americans who descended from child slavery,” Bezzel said to the group.

As if he's not supposed to be protesting to close the border ?is it because he's black?

He knows like I know once they get in their going to turn white as they go from working outside to inside and then turn politically white and not realizing that their going threw their second wipe out and when you hear about a Latino it's going to be in a fucking book.
 
This is a group that hasn't done their homework.

For starters, why would you protest at your state capitol when the borders are controlled by the federal government? Governor Abbott can make life difficult for people who come across, but he can't do anything to stop them.

They're worried about illegal Latino immigrants stealing black jobs? What do you think is going to happen when you cut off the border with a country that does over half a trillion dollars of trade with the US every year? Businesses all across Texas will shut down and the black people that own or work for them will be laid off.

The effect on the Mexican economy will be even worse which means more Mexicans will try to head north.

It's worth noting that the overwhelming majority of Latinos who cross the southern border have no intention of staying in the United States. Many are dual citizens who live in Mexico and work legally in the US. A lot of them are truck drivers who drop off their loads and go back. Many are tourists who collectively spend over $20 billion a year in this country. You also have international students, people visiting relatives, traveling missionaries, and countless others.

Finally, even if you had some sort of magic power that stopped all illegal entry into the United States none of it means anything if you don't have a system to properly process the people who are already here. Our immigration system is a bureaucratic nightmare and shutting down the border does nothing to change that.

I was in DC/all of the DMV a few months ago and everyone was non-Black. A shit ton of Africans, Mexicans, every Asian you can think of, and all couldn’t speak a lick of english.

Definitely true for many parts of NOVA other than Woodbridge. In DC however, you must have only been in the Southwest part.

I'm out in PG County and they have flooded most of the areas inside the beltway. When you get further out to Upper Marlboro, that is where all the black folk have clustered...there and Charles County.

Is this illegal or legal immigrants? This just talks about immigrants, which would also include European immigrants and I bet dollars to doughnuts that if we had an Irish immigrant problem, this wouldn't be a problem today.

While I agree, it was meant as a joke in the sense of talking black or acting black. I also don't blame a motherfcuker for trying to feed their family. If a company is going to pay a undocumented cat less than the minimum wage just so they can save a couple bucks. That's not his fault, blame that company. This protest should be directed to Washington DC or Congress members. They're the ones who haven't completed shit.

If state Governors were really serious, they would be cracking down on Employers who hire them.

Asylum seekers can't legally work for 6 months while waiting for a immigration judge.

The only other thing the Exec branch can do is revise the visa process and standards.

A lot of illegals are ones who TPS time has expired or Visa has expired and they haven't left.

This march is nonsensical and divisive.
