Idris Elba can't be Bond because he isn't 'English English' says Roger Moore

Idris was never ever gonna play Bond.
He also doesn't want to play Bond.
So leave him the fuck outta this shit.

Just an observation, but the majority of the time when you cast a black actor/actress in a role or movie (see Star Wars, Percy Jackson, Hunger Games, etc.)that has been considered "traditionally white," you are going to have some fans protesting against those casting decisions.
I remember when the "Black Panther" came out and there was some concerns about how box office sale would be in China.

With Idris Elba or Rege-Jean Page playing James Bond, I am sure there will be some complaints. Especially, with scenes like this.

The man James Bond was based on was Dominican, so having a someone of color makes more sense than the white guy.

We are definitely on the same page and I totally agree with you about the white women. The problem I believe would be the white men (The producers might want to greenlight the idea, but might be concerned about whether white males would purchase tickets to see a black man as Bond, and box office revenue).

Thank you and of course @LatinDragonXJC.

Rubirosa's lifestyle does in fact sound reminiscent of James Bond's. I just perused an article that stated that Ian Fleming might have been reluctant to publicize that Porfirio Rubirosa was his inspiration to create James Bond due to Fleming anticipating a backlash based on racism.
Ian Fleming created the James Bond character in 1953 and here we are approaching 70 years of Bond, and we have the same problems. This time instead of Fleming it falls on the producers of the films.

The James Bond producers understand why Idris Elba would turn down the 007 role

So Idris Elba doesn't want to play 007? The producers get it.
James Bond franchise brass Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have responded to the actor's recent statement that he doesn't see himself portraying the iconic character. The Luther star has long been rumored as a possible candidate to replace Daniel Craig in the role of the super-spy, but in a recent interview he seemed to make it pretty clear he was unlikely to take it on.
"When I look in the mirror, I don't see James Bond," Elba told The Wall Street Journal.

However, now Broccoli and Wilson have explained why they understand Elba's reasoning, given their desire to find an actor who can play Bond in multiple films and the fact that the actor is only four years younger than Craig.

"The thing is, it's going to be a couple of years off," Broccoli said in a new interview with Variety. "And when we cast Bond, it's a 10-, 12-year commitment. So he's probably thinking, 'Do I really want that thing?' Not everybody wants to do that. It was hard enough getting [Daniel Craig to do it]."
Added Wilson, "And he was in his early 30s at the time!" (Craig was actually 37 when the producers officially announced he had the role.)
Broccoli went on to say that the pool of potential Bonds is limited by actors' reluctance to commit to the part for the long haul. "A lot of people think, 'Oh yeah, it'd be fun to do one,'" the producer said. "Well. That ain't gonna work."
She also emphasized that producers have to figure out the nature of the forthcoming Bond film before securing its lead.

"That's why when people go, 'Oh, who are you going to get?' it's not just about casting an actor for a film," she said. "It's about a reinvention, and 'Where are we taking it? What do we want to do with the character?' And then, once we figure that out, who's the right person for that particular reinvention?"
Finally, the producers revealed that they're still in the "early days" of their search for the next 007.

Let me give you a hint racism isn’t a problem but an economic engine.

If you are going to do a black bond, I would want Damson Idris. He would need to beef up a little.

But they will probably use that Bridgerton ninja.

Why would he need to beef up at all?
Have you seen all the bonds?
Smh.

I think there could be a real concern that Elba is not going to have any grace.

If he is not OUTSTANDING?

If they don't do this absolutely perfect?

Those incels who ALREADY PREPPING gonna go full out.

And to me the brocolli family gonna have to pay that man PROPER.

they may even be pressured to have more people of color and women on staff
Which to be fair they have already done with the last movie.

This is such a no brainer

But I think the producers just didn't like the PUBLIC telling them what to do

Look at the name , named after a racist fictional Wop cac. Then check his pro Trump post history
Which Don Coreleone was racist? I've seen the movie several times, I've even read the book and I've never seen Don Vito Coreleone or Don Micheal Coreleone say the N word or commit racist actions. Please educate me. And as far as Trump goes as several people have pointed out what's the difference between Trump, Biden and for that matter your fucking hero Hobama, other than Trump was flat out against immigration of any kind which pretty much helps the Black community.

man let idris get his own action shit
he is big enough now leave bond for the cacs

You obviously didn’t really watch the movie because they were having a meeting talking about selling drugs to the dark people.

Hobama? Ok honky

There is no originality in making James Bond Black, I have an idea how about use an MI6 agent and create a whole new series based upon that one not limited by the lore of James Bond. They can even introduce him in the next James Bond movie.
It doesn't have to be original.
It's not original when it's a white actor.
We know going in we'll see some solid action, pretty girls, nice cars and gadgets.
Making bond black wouldn't change that.

That wasn't Don Coreleone who made that statement and Don Vito didn't want to sell it in the first place. So that is no evidence that the Don himself was racist. Bitchass muthafucka
