Car Dealers Are Trying To Make Having A Car Payment Over $1,000 The New Normal

FUCK THAT ....NEVER !
They build in retired employees pensions and all kinds of shit
I was just talking to someone today about this
and the fact that something as simple as a headlight on
some of these new cars is as much a 5 grand is ridiculous.
The chip and part shortage is playing a large part in this nonsense created by that last idiot in office
A car note that's as much as a house payment is simply an asinine way to spend money.
The vanity on some people is beyond stupid

People will pay any price for approval and validation.

The technological improvements between a 5 year old and a new car don't justify the price difference.

If you want speed or luxury you can get it without the car being brand new.

Reality is...I'll never ever buy a brand new car and never have. Last car I bought on a loan, my payment was $140mo. I buy used, paid in full. Fuck a monthly payment.

Shit car prices are disrespectful as hell right now, ive never been a car guy but recenrtly brought a 2010 nissan armada for 9400 ive never brought brand new just didnt see the need for it but im a point a to b type dude. Never knew a car guy until my man brought a souped up suv he paid 54k for but before he took possesion of it some guy offered him 75k for it and he didnt even blink when he turned him down I was pissed ive flipped cars within a week of buying and fixing but he a car guy and the financial aspect never entered his mind he wanted that car and he was taking possesion of that car, it was weird i still dont get it but to each his own.

I really want a cybertruck one day. After the kinks are worked out from the first models. Should be in position to get one cash by then.

TESLA CYBERTRUCK VS. GMC HUMMER EV: AVAILABILITY
GMC won this race, as the very first Hummer EV pickups were delivered this spring. The Hummer EV3x is slated to arrive this fall, while the EV2x and EV2 models are scheduled for 2023 and 2024, respectively. The Hummer EV Edition 1 launch model is sold out, but customers can pay $100 to reserve theirs on GMC’s website.
Tesla had planned to produce the first Cybertrucks in 2021 and roll out more models in 2022. However, production has been delayed multiple times. For now, Elon Musk and company are striving to finish the truck’s development this year so that the first models can arrive in 2043. Buyers can place a fully refundable $100 deposit for the Cybertruck on Tesla’s website, though they cannot build or customize their particular pickup.

Dealership's Video Showing Off Big Monthly Payments Brutally Backfires

Few things generate as much cringe as a corporate TikTok, but one Arizona dealership struck viral gold for all the wrong reasons. Employees at Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Surprise, Arizona, sounded off on their absurdly large car payments, and the internet isn't having it.

The dealership has since removed two of its videos where it asks employees to chime in with their car payments, but copies and stitches reacting to the videos are still out there. The premise is simple: It's a roundup of how much dealership employees are paying per month for the vehicles they own, listing only the monthly payment and the car it's for.

To be fair, the Miller dealership isn't the only one to have done this, either. Other dealerships have everything from pretty normal-sounding payment roundups to more high-dollar cringe. Yet Miller's Arizona dealership was the one that released a "Big Boy Edition!!!" (direct quote from the video text) of all four-figure payments, and that's the one that's gotten the most viral attention.

Reactions have been mostly negative, for understandable reasons. It's tone-deaf to publicize your employees' highest car payments at a time when average monthly car loan payments are skyrocketing in a way that feels straight out of 2008. The average monthly new car loan payment was $667 in the second quarter of this year, per Forbes, up from $582 in the second quarter of 2021. A record 12.7% of new vehicle loans made in June 2022 had four-figure monthly payments according to Edmunds, up from 7.3% in June 2021. Interest rates are up and 2022's assortment of supply chain interruptions have pushed car prices up even further, and it's squeezing everyone—especially subprime borrowers—into less favorable terms that ultimately force them to pay way too much over the life of the loan and that could set some borrowers up for default.

There's an unsettling "we do it, too" factor to videos like this that acts to normalize gargantuan monthly payments, regardless of whether that was part of the dealership's intent or not. (The Drive reached out to the dealership in the video for comment, and has not received a response at the time of this writing.) Miller's video only lists the kind of car financed, not the terms of the loans or any relevant data on the borrowers, like salaries or credit scores. Dealership employees aren't usually high rollers, though, and frankly, it should be shocking to hear them shell out this much on a single monthly car payment.

If it’s not a high end Bimmer, Benz, Audi, Porsche then paying $1500 a month and you have another note that’s $1900 a month the. Your a wild bozo

I can justify an AMG, M-Series- Audi RS series being over $1000 a month..

I was thinking closer to 1k

Anything less than 48 months is gonna be well over 1k a month

It aint that serious

I'm here to post bitches and talk shit
Ninja sent me a calculator
But you came into a car payment discussion thread. Did you expect them to send you something else?

Buy used. A one to two year old car can still be like new.

Even better get an older car for cash. Problem solved
I bought my first used car 3 years ago because previously I had the mentality that I did want to inherit someone else's problem. I think I may go the certified pre-owned from here on out because it is such a better value. I don't mind spending money, but I don't like to waste money.

Only thing wrong is you counting other peoples money....

You haven't even put Dodge Power Dollars in or Stellantis discount in

Nevermind, forgot this a black forum..
Use your head. You have no money for me to count for it to be worthwhile. Besides your so-called money was calculated wrongly, as usual.
