Beyond the narrative issues, bringing them into the Netflix's series as they originally existed would also have been difficult from a licensing perspective - on par with the problems the show deftly avoided by using Johanna Constantine in place of John Constantine.
spoilers in that first article not reading it yet

but i don't care that they made Constantine a girl.. but they always have to shoehorn the alphabet agenda in every show..

It picks up around episode 4. They pushing the LGBTQ stuff hard though. Like 70 percent of the couples etc.
Tell me you didn't read the source material without telling me you didn't read the source material.

one gripe

they make constantine a girl and then make her gay....
They made her Bi, just like the original Constantine.

shoehorn? Again Constantine always been a poof. Lol

I didn't read any of the original literature, but I'm really impressed by this series. Episode 6 in particular was a very well done. I see the comments about all the alt lifestyle influence, but I mean come on, most of the characters are either demonic, demonic influenced or immortal in some kind of way. Are we really shocked that they aren't conventional when it comes to sex or sexual preference?

Nah, most of the normal characters are faggots.

Never came back for my updated review.

While I thought the first episode was a little weak and cheap looking, they definitely nailed it the rest of the way. Loved every second of it from the second episode on, Episode 6 was a high point. Really hope we get a season 2.

Did you see when Death started reaping souls and Mfs was like hold on, I still got some shit to do! Hey, that’s how I think most people will be. I got to go? Like, right now? The old man knew but everybody else was like this some ol Bs man! The baby…

That whole sequence was amazing, the baby definitely put it over the edge, Just amazing. The acting by Kirby Howell-Baptiste was spot on and gave those moments a lot of weight.

I almost wish they split the episode into two short episodes, I understand how the themes bled together and balance each other but I feel it would have been stronger by itself. Death's section was perfect.

I think Episode 6 should win awards. I don't know which award, but damn that shit was beautifully directed and acted.

My god, this series is soooooo gay. The personification of Desire is a tranny. The rogue nightmare is a faggot with mouths of teeth for eyes. The house owner in Florida is a transvestite who does shows in drag. SMMFH x 100

i got a question about Johanna
is she supposed to be the same person in both times and if so how

I'm going to try to force myself to finish this like I did HBO leftovers which left me pissed the fuck off. I made it to episode 6 and still not liking the show all that much. I feel like I'm watching a CW show when watching this.
