Was he wrong in not telling them about the gun?

It was more of a mistake having his gun and registration at the same spot and not tell, but at least he was calm and cool allowing the cops to verify his claim, that loud mouth over emotional hoe on the others hand did everything on her power to escalate the situation.

You're supposed to let them know if you have your conceal carry on you. In most cases they already know whether you have a conceal carry license based off your car registration. Your main objective should be just to get home safely. Quick answers and taking the guessing game out the equation will be your best friend. Fight any fuckery afterwards when you don't have to worry about the cops taking your life by the side of the road.

Should have let the cops know, but the cops didn't need to cuff him for that long. Once they saw he was not resisting and they saw his license they didn't need to go through his shit trying to find something to incriminate him on.

I only watched to the point when they yanked him out...... in this day and age when white cops will shoot one of us for spitting out the window it was dumb as fuck not to tell them immediately when they walked up to the window.... while both hands are out of the window.... better safe and alive...end of story
"Good evening officer.... I have a gun and my vehicle registration in the glove box."

So they can yell, "HE HAS A GUN"

And start shooting?

Nah, I'm not saying shit until I'm out of the car.

First of all he was talking way too Goddamn much in the beginning. No need to tell them motherfuckers more information than they need to know

Racist ass cops always looking for a reason to shoot us. I'm not going to tell him I have a gun until I'm away from that mother fucker

That brother probably didn't want to end up like Philando Castille RIP.

Also why was he being so friendly with the pigs for making small talk and shit. Smh

The cops on the right passenger side pulled his gun out soon as he exited the car.

Fuck the po po

Question for conceal carry folks. (I'm working on getting my license)

When you go to someone's home (family, friend, neighbor) do you disclose that you're carrying?

**Disclaimer** Disclose to home owner ONLY.

My neighbors, family & friends know I usually carry so it's not a concern. Either way I keep it to myself whether I'm carrying or not. If they ask then maybe I'll disclose that information but even then that would depend on who's asking and where we are.

That's not practical. If you're conceal carrying and have it on your person then you put yourself more at risk divulging that you have your piece on you while out the car than if you disclose that info when they're at the window while your hands are where they can be seen. As I mentioned earlier, many states have your conceal carry associated with your license/registration so they know the moment they pull up your info.

YES!!! You tell the cops first thing that you have a gun in the car!!!

I got stopped and told dude right away that the gun was in the glovebox and to take it out if he needed to.

Cop said don't worry about it, checked my CCW and went on with the stop.

I understand that point of view. For me it depends on who the person is and where we are. If it's someone I don't know well then I want to get a vibe off the person before I feel comfortable letting it be known. If it's someone I know and I know how they feel about firearms then I'll respect their space and leave my firearm secured in my car.

Yep and I've been informed to do that as well by cops. If it's on your person then confirm that you're carrying and at what position so that it reduces any fear of the unknown.

If you feel like you have to carry a gun into your friend's house, then that might not be the spot to be at.

Leave your gun in the car if you come over my house. It's just not needed and could be a safety issue at some point.

dont wait til they get up to your window to go having to reach for your DL, insurance, CHL etc....already have it out.
.....and dont give it to em til they ask for it. I always have my DL and CHL already out. that way they know its no surprise that im armed.

ole loud mouf shoulda kept her ass in the car......
i definitely wouldnt have shook his hand tho......not after calling me all kinds of muthafuckas.....

It's not about feeling like I need to carry at a friend's house. I carry to be ready so I don't have to get ready no matter where I am the moment I step outside my home. However if I know a friend or neighbor that I'm cool with feels a way about it, then I respect them and their home accordingly.

That one cop, the passenger, had a chip on his shoulder before he even got out the car. He was looking to fuck with dude.

Now...

First and foremost, all CHL carriers should tell the cop from the gate that you have your carry license immediately. What it tells them is that you are NOT a felon. That puts assholes like that at ease.

All that small talk, fuck that, I'm not conversating with them mofo's. Period.
I'll be polite, but him discussing where he going, coming, his momma live, was tew much info.

I'm bout to order a spare license and CCL so I can have them all in an envelope along with a copy of my insurance ready to go in my visor so it can be given to them in 1 swoop without me having to reach over to my glove box or wallet. Eliminate any cause for fear of surprises

Even after they saw that he had a legit CCW they searched his car, they were itching to find something.

Know how dumb they were? They were legit fucking with him cause he was black.

He could of had a SCUD missile in the back and they never looked there.

And as much as it seems annoying at times with the chick yelling at the side, it probably helps with them assholes just wanting to leave the scene. Plus it's just more witnesses so they won't pull some BS.
