LOS ANGELES - On Friday, the Los Angeles City Council will consider passing an ordinance that would house homeless people in empty hotel rooms. If it passes, every hotel in Los Angeles will have to report their vacancies.

According to the measure, "Each hotel shall communicate to the Department or its designee, in a form that the Department prescribes, by 2 p.m. each day the number of available rooms at the hotel for that night."

LA does have a homeless problem. But I'd be pissed if I owned a hotel and I had to give up rooms to house homeless people and have to deal with the issues that come along with that.

I will assume they will screen who gets those available rooms.

Most likely it’s the homeless who have good paying jobs, clean lifestyles, stay out of trouble.

They are just having issues finding a affordable place to live.

If they going to allow the junkies, drunks and riff raff in….yeah, you gonna have problems.

Not feeling this. :smh:

I'm sorry bro, but I don't want somebody smelling like piss, shit and Milwaukee's Best in the lobby w/ me and my fam. Call it what you will, but this ain't good for business. Not to mention, I'm sure they gon fuck up the rooms once they get in. Not sure about yo city, but homeless ppl be wilding out in mine.

I once had a homeless dude threaten to cut off my daughter's head in broad daylight, b/c he felt she had ET's phone and ET's mama was trying to text. You think we need that kinda shit in the next room over?

Are they gonna screen the homeless for these rooms? Not for nothing, you don't want a Batshit crazy homeless person terrorizing the hotel.

Same in the ATL. The government is going to force private businesses to do what they refuse to do. I can't see this shit surviving a lawsuit.

It's better than Eric Adams' solution. He wants to use the police to deal with homelessness.

Hey Bloomberg wanted to put them all on boats.. yes he seriously said this when he was running for mayor the first time.. I knew I couldn’t trust that fucker from that moment on

bet you them boats would’ve mysteriously caught fire, sunk, or floated away with no one being able to find them.. some mass genocide idea

Man can u imagine how many kidneys and hearts and eyes we would have if we do what we need to do

nobody will have to wait
I always said that it should be mandatory that dead people donate their organs, and if you choose not to do so, then you are not eligible for any organs if you should ever need them. Problem solved!

this goes about the believe that our body belongs to us. why should the government get to decide what happens to your body. shouldn't you be the one who decide when you leave this earthly plane? what about family? don't the husband, wife, child get a say? What is the very same government said you cannot post to BGOL, would that be ok with you?

You can choose to be selfish after death, just don't come begging to that same government for a liver once you choose to opt out! Plus think about all the poor children who get kidnapped on the black market for body parts!
I swear selfish people want it both ways with no responsibility for their actions!

selfish after death? the sock you are wearing, you choose. the toothbrush and paste you use to brush your teeth this morning, you chooses. the food you eat, the car you drive, the person you love, all of your choosing. now your ok with the government deciding after you leave your earthly plane to do what they want? Make it make sense. How is it selfish. Is selfish of you to wear no sock? to not brush your teeth? to not drive, not love? As far as the black-market, I call bullshit on that. Show us hard fucking proof this really is a thing and I'll believe you. Until then your making shit up.

In my plan it would be the opposite of the way things are now where the defacto position after you die is they do not donate your organs, unless yo opt in by become an organ donor.
Under my plan, you are automatically a donor unless you opt out choosing to instead keep them for worm food.
Understand this, I have no problems with people choosing what to do with their organs after death, but such a selfish choices would have, real world, implications, and in this case, the people who opt out would not be eligible for an organ donation, should he ever got sick and need one.
Now are the dots beginning to connect in your brain because this shit isn't that difficult to grasp!

so your plan means nobody has a choice to do what they want in regards to their bodies. Under your plan.. you have to opt out of not being a donor.. one day.. under your plan, you will have to opt out of ____________(fill in the blank). The point is.. it won't end well for no one.

that may be but based off your dumb ass , not well thought out idea, we could one day live in a world where reading is no longer a choice and then we'd all be stuck adhering to your dumb ass belief system. how is that for fundamentalism?

If you can not see how stupid your slippery slope weak argument is, this is then not only is your lack of simple common logic beyond your grasp, but now I am starting to wonder how "touched in the head" you truly are!
A slippery slope fallacy occurs when someone makes a claim about a series of events that would lead to one major event, usually a bad event. In this fallacy, a person makes a claim that one event leads to another event and so on until we come to some awful conclusion.

Opt out of what???? The imaginary slippery slope scenario that you assume would have to happen in order for this crap to make sense??? :smh:
There is a term in logic called the slippery slope fallacy that is taught in logic 101 that explains how asinine and flawed this argument is.

I would create a homeless settlement way out in the middle of nowhere with all the supportive services they can need. Tiny Homes, than they can move up to housing once they establish a track record. I would ban these supportive services in the city and being homeless to force them out. This could also be used for convicts.

Once they are isolated, it will be easier to spot out drug trafficking much like living in rural areas. Ask any drug dealer what environment is tougher, rural or urban.

You can offer mass transit for jobs in the city. The only homeless shelter service I would offer in the city is one with jobs.

Something has to be done about the homeless but this would be a slippery slope for businesses. Some of those homeless are mentally ill and would pee or shit in the rooms too much for housekeeping to fix

If I were a business that would be a major concern outside of bedbugs
