Forgive all that shit. We say we live in the land of the free, but shit ain't free here. You go to most western countries they are paying for higher ed, medical insurance, etc. Don't want to do it here because it will help too many of us (Africans). This is the real problem. They have no problem giving ADC to white women and general assistance to white men, but when it comes to black folk, nope, they say we bilk the system. Same shit with this education thing. This is how I see it. If your skills allow this system to continue then the system owes you something. You pay for everything in this motherfucker. You pay to be born. When you start working you pay for everybody's shit except your own. You pay for k-12 education for the rugrats. You pay for the internal improvements, roads, lights, and plumbing. A lot of us don't have children and don't own homes. The least them motherfuckers can do is pay for an education that is more beneficial to the system than it is to you. I just mention a few things above that you pay for, but it is a shitload of stuff you pay for and don't get any benefits from. For example, the u.s. is fight a fucking proxy war, right now. What benefit are we getting? Pay my student loans and give me by fuck reparations then they can do what the fuck they want too. I want my money. I don't want all that other shit. What the current admin is doing about it is really a political ploy but I say be rid of it all and college should be frees especially for those whose ansestors were slaves and forbidden to have an education in this country in the first place.

There's some debate a out whether forgiving student debt is a fair thing and not just between Democrats and Republicans.

The basic argument against is that

1. The students willfully signed for the loans.
2. College grads make more money on average than non college grads.
3. Why not forgive everyone that has loans (car, business, etc)?
4. Many students didn't pursue the right degree, spend time partying or dropped out. Why should tax payers pay for their irresponsibility?
5. Others busted their asses to pay off the debt and now wouldn't benefit.

What we fail to realize is the governments culpability in the accumulation of all this debt. The government encourages people to take out students loans by 1)Guaranteeing them 2) providing tax incentives for having them. So the government created a system where any 18 year old that can get a higher education isntitution to agree to take their money can get a loan guaranteed by the government and that individuals future. Now we have trillions of dollars that student loan companies are collecting interest on yearly. If we are going to cancel debt we need to cancel the system as well.Either the government should have provided the loans to begin with or college should be free for everyone.

Agreed. We all know people that spent six years in college and partied and played around, majoring in Balloon Animals. Racked up a debt of $48K and now is asking tax payers to pay that. Others got their degree in engineering with a 3.6GPA and are making $112K. Good for them... they can pay.

We've already paid off my wifes car and my truck. And just recently paid off our home mortgage. Thank You Jesus! Was a 30-year Coventional, but we paid it of in 10 years saving us over $90,000 in Mortgage Interest Expense. Each auto loan was a 7-year and we paid off both in 2 years.

Two things.

1. If you have student debt,. That means you went to college and are now working as a lawyer, computer engineer, financial analyst. You're making$160K. Pay off your debt.

2. You went to college and dropped out. Working now as a customer service representative, etc. You should have finished.

3. You got a shithole degree. Found out that being a theater major wasn't going to pay the bills and are now working at a bagel shop. (Yea I know someone that did that). Your failure is not my responsibility. Pay your debt.
