So, those hispanic’s economic prospects in this country are substantially different from african americans and in a considerably more favorable regard. Of course, they’re going to behave different politically.

While just a generation or two away from immigrating they can still readily travel back to and stay connected with their home country, distinct culture, and language. When here their distinct culture and language connects them to a large degree, so that they can now come and day one settle in a neighborhood that welcomes and supports them. This means there is way less pressure to sacrifice traditional values and customs for political alliances.

In just a generation or two they are often able to pass themselves off as white enough at just a glance, by overcoming their accent, emulating anglo culture, and even possibly changing their surname. Thus, they don’t elicit the same immediate negative reaction from whites that a very dark skin, nappy haired person like myself would when they walk through the front door of certain institutions.

Once established here they can often secure resources from their home country, even if its just cheap labor, but often its more than that as they’re able to sell goods and services back to the citizens of their home country. The government of their home country is also much more likely to support their businesses should they offer a product or professional service their home country requires.

These differences afford them quicker and easier access to middle class, or higher status and thus they are more likely to align with forces against business regulations that limit exploitation of lower working class, and economically disenfranchised people. They become white.

For instance, I don't believe LGBT+ issues occupy nearly as significant a place in the cultural landscape for the majority of us. However, for the purpose of political leverage we've found our self in an alliance with their advocates.
