Marvel woke up today and said......let me remind y'all who the fuck we are!!

So, you're telling you have a problem with a scene that lasted all of, IIRC, a minute if that? That's your prerogative.

I had no problem with it then nor do I have a problem with it now. It's not a scene that has any bearing on the plot. It's pure fanservice. The whole battle was forced because it doesn't make since that the entire MCU roster ended up there at that very moment but it was great entertainment.

I agree that they haven't utilized their women heroes very well. But, if they do utilize them, you'll likely have morons accusing Marvel of having a "feminist" agenda. I still don't get the hate directed Captain Marvel.

^^^^

Sadly in print and on screen throughout entertainment woman characters get shorted

However people acting like Wanda, Okoye, Ms marvel, echo, Monica Rambeau, just to name a few haven't been made into iconic female characters...

That's just Marvel.

Thousands of young women buy their merchandise and wear their costumes and watch the shows and movies.

The hate It's laughable at this point

i always thought so. No knock on Chadwick. I just felt Daniel could/would have brought something different to the role

R.I.P

He is a wonderful actor and I have never been disappointed

And honestly at first he was on my short list.

But since?

Nah. Chadwick was exactly who was always meant to play that.

That happens.

RIP Christopher Reeves.

who's to say both of them couldn't bring positives to the role. I didnt mean I didnt like Chadwick, he just wouldn't have been my 1st choice. Good thing Im not in charge

Personally as a longtime Black Panther fan I always thought Chadwick was always too skinny. When he was picked he was like the go to negro in other words we need a leading Black man actor who is young. I don't know what Yahya Mateen Abdul II was doing but I think the brother would have made the perfect T'challa.

Ever since I saw him do that homo shit in black mirror it's been a no go with this brother. Sad because he from the boot

Agreed he was on top of my list too

There was a lists and lists, we got dozens of threads on it already

Chadwick made that role iconic on AND off the screen

And trust me that's rare and special

Perfect choice

So they are just fucking up comic books now.

Another nerd ranting about shit that doesn't matter. Galactus hasn't been interesting for years so I don't see anything wrong with this development.

This isn't "shitting" on Lee and Kirby's creation any more than having High Evolutionary turn him into a giant brain or Thanos knocking his helmet off.

What Spielberg needs to be doing is a sequel to “Close Encounters of The Third Kind”.

Answer the question of if the aliens were hostile or friendly?

Richard Dreyfus is still alive. There is enough film archive footage from him back in the 1970s to do a decent CGI of him, being he isn’t supposed to have age while he was gone.

The ending of that movie has been driving me nuts since I was a kid and saw it in theaters back in 1977.

  • Russo Brothers Call Potential ‘Secret Wars’ Movies For Marvel “A Massive Undertaking”
Tom Tapp and Anthony D'Alessandro

“We say the same thing,” remarked Joe Russo when asked about the possibility that he and brother Anthony could direct a version of the Secret Wars plotline for Marvel.
Indeed, they’ve been asked about it for years, giving cagey answers and trying to walk the line between enthusiasm and secrecy. The more Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 unfolds, the more excited fans seem to be about the prospect, which could cap the current cycle of films in much the same way Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame did for Phase 3. Which is why anything the duo says about the idea is parsed endlessly by fans and journalists alike.

Deadline caught up with Anthony and Joe Russo last night at the premiere of their Netflix film, The Gray Man, and managed to get them to talk about why Secret Wars is their dream Marvel project. You can watch the clip below.

“Our love for Marvel is based on the books that we read as kids, the books that we fell in love with,” Joe told Deadline. “The one series that we adored growing up was Secret Wars. It’s incredibly ambitious. It would be bigger than Infinity War and Endgame. But it’s a massive undertaking. Those two movies were very hard to make. So trying to imagine making another two movies even bigger than those two? We’re going to have to sleep on that.”

One key takeaway from the interview is that Secret Wars is a dream project for the brothers. If you’re Marvel and you have the duo who created two of the top five-grossing films of all time — which took in nearly $6 billion at the box office — and they’re dying to make two more series-capping features for you, it’s got to be a hard idea to resist.
Another takeaway is the phrase “two movies.” While many have assumed Secret Wars would need to be stretched over two films, the brothers Russo have at times referred to Secret Wars as one film.

“It would be the biggest movie you could possibly imagine, so that’s what really excites us about the story — the ambition of it is even bigger than the ambition of the Infinity Saga,” Anthony said in 2020.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, when asked about rumors of a Secret Wars finale for Phase 4, has played coy.
Marvel’s Kevin Feige Drops Hints About Phase 4 & Studio’s “Next Big Saga”
“I’ve seen those rumors as well. Why is everyone talking about that now? That’s what I want to know,” Feige said late last year. “I think one person writes about it, and then another person writes about it, and then everybody’s writing about it, and then it’s happening.”

Last month, in an interview with Total Film, Feige promised more clarity, saying, “We’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the roadmap.”
One very obvious signpost in the coming months is D23 Expo 2022, which runs September 9-11. Marvel will also be at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con but will likely reserve big revelations for September.
The Secret Wars saga involves the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool and the Avengers. It would be a great way to tie all the current plotlines together and synergize the reunited Marvel film assets.
