You're right humans are social creatures but Im not trying to impress folks that's my age or half my age. That's the problem with most people now. You got 40 or 50-something year old people acting like they're in their 20's.
Also,most introverts are not scare to socialize with other people. We just rather keep a small circle of close friends and not to deal with bullshit all the time.

I'm an introvert by nature as I am a cerebral person.
I enjoy being by myself. I can work a crowd and be social when need be but that is only for short periods of time.
Good thing is my introversion got me through Quarantine when I saw a lot of people losing their shit! I was fine being in the house and just enjoying the company of myself.

I tend to travel between being an introvert and an extrovert. Just depends on my mood and the occasion.
I subscribed to him a few months ago and haven't watched one of his videos, 'cause they are too dayum long. 47 minutes (above) is one of his shortest videos, he should make 3 minutes videos really....lol. I guess they need a Black Middle-age Tik-Tok 30 seconds to 3 minutes videos.

I don't have no problem meeting new people but if you give off a vibe I don't like I stay far away from you. This been the case since I was a kid.And,if you're a co-worker I limit my interaction with you. I don't want your bullshit around me.
The introverts I know aren't like people who don't talk to anyone ever. They're more like people who are careful who they talk around. They go out but only to certain spots to be around certain people. They're not like hermits or no shit like that (though that shit exists). The ones I know are just super selective.

There is a spectrum. Most of the time we concentrate on the extremes because of how we are wired. We either see the outgoing and personable extrovert or the reclusive introvert but there is a grey area. That is why I mention ambiversion. I think a lot of people fall into that middle category: Extroverted when they need to be but introverted when they want.

My parents are still JW's to this day.
Like you I am outgoing but reserved at times. No doubt my childhood is why I can become distant and very comfortable being alone when need be.

High level I get what you are saying by who cares, but it can be an issue for some.
For example, people who are introverted are normally labeled as shy/timid/fearful and potentially not seen as being able to lead teams. People automatically assume you have no social skills and you spend your time only doing solo activities usually around computers. These beliefs can hinder careers. I've seen introverted women get treated like kids because people assume they don't have the ability to stand up for themselves.
That's why it killed me a few years ago when all of a sudden being introverted became the it thing on social media for a short period of time. I would see people who I'd never consider to be introverted claim they were. In my opinion people confuse their situational behavior with how they normally behave.

I’m mostly introverted, but extroverted when teaching. Even in social settings, I’m extroverted, but I can’t keep that energy going for prolong period of times. I need moments away from people and conversation to replenish my energy and tolerance levels.
I have always been like this. At family gatherings, going out with friends, or whatever else that deals with people.
Anytime I spend prolong period of time around folks, I need a day or two to decompress.

Im definitely an observer. There have been many times I’m mistaken as quiet when I’m just learning about the people I’m surrounded by. I like to get a general idea of who I am dealing and the setting I am in.
Plus, I absolutely hate having to talk over people or people that doesn’t listen well.
In a room full of extroverts, I’m generally extroverted too. But, I never say anything I don’t feel like is worth saying.
Im not sure how you or others define introverted and extroverted people, but i define based on how energy is gained.
Introverted people are people that gains energy from within themselves.
Extroverted people are people that gains energy from being around other people.
I am introverted and I tend to agree with what you said. Many times in my life I have said that I am retarded and people would laughter it off. I mean it though.
