SCOTUS strikes down NYC gun control law

that's the point though.

They are making it easier to flood everywhere but where they are with more guns and more people that don't know how to use them
I don't know if that's the logic behind it but I do agree there are a lot of owners who don't train and/or just buy a gun and immediately put it down somewhere to collect dust while under the impression that's simple and easy to use when needed. I'm a huge advocate for ppl doing some sort of training and learning the legal ramifications/responsibility that come with being a gun owner.

Sounds a lot like a part of common-sense gun legislation.

Can't drive a fukkn car without training

Can't make fries at Mcdonalds' without training

No problem with this whatsoever. The law was bullshit and rooted in racism. It'll be a while before any NY patrons can take advantage of this anyways cuz the backlog of requests is beyond ridiculous. They purposely try to deter you from getting a gun by making the process so long and tedious that you either get frustrated and quit or don't even bother. And that's just for people living outside NYC. In NYC, you had a better chance of seeing hippy Jesus changing water to wine on the subway than getting approved for a firearm.

bruh they literally come to your neighborhood and ask people about you.... these kak kkkops are shook to death,

if they know the average new yorker can shootback, gonna be a whole lot of them resigning, and moving,

back to a racist sundown town, where nobody wants to be

The problem with a lot of the legislation is in many cases, for every proposed bill that gun owners and non-gun owners agree on, there would be multiple propositions snuck in that weren't part of the initial discussions that would in essence penalize law abiding owners. The back and forth comes from asking owners to compromise but not being willing to do the same. I personally believe this is rooted in corrupt politicians getting financed behind the scenes by constituents in return for pandering to their agendas

ironically similar logic would apply as a rebuttal to people believing NY would turn into the wild west. Criminals prey on whomever they think is a weak or easy target. If they had to worry about the mark they were going after having something on them, they'd be more likely to think twice before following through. If people take courses to get proper training, then they would learn situational awareness to make themselves less of a target as well regardless of whether they're armed or not.

I told you guys what these people want to do going out the door. Be careful out there. The police departments should be the one super worried right now

In the majority opinion, King Coon Clarence Thomas declares: "the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect an individual's right to carry a handgun for self-defense outside the home"

But, crucially, not near any SCOTUS Justice's house. Example 9999 why "originalism" is a scam. Thomas, as usual, is literally making it up as he goes to forcibly impose the most radical elements of the GOP agenda.

Gonna be very weird when the Supreme Court ends a constitutional right to obtain an abortion next week, saying it should be left to the States to decide, right after it just imposed a constitutional right to concealed carry of firearms, saying it cannot be left to the States to decide

If polls show the majority is in favor of the most common sense provisions suggested but the politicians won't even entertain the discussion it is obvious that their marching order is coming from the manufacturers using the NRA as the proxy.....

Thomas and those like him depend on people who don't read and they always leave out the part of all the previous SCOTUS rulings were overturned when the NRA and Scalia rewrote the definition of the 2nd amendment in the late 80s

NRA is just one proxy. There are proxies on both sides with agendas that are overruling some of legislations the politicians may truly want to back. If some of these offices had term limits then maybe we'd see less of it instead of hearing the same ole BS from these lifetime politicians

Voting clearly matters. Trump was able to place 3 Justices on the Supreme Court within a 4 year term. This shit will ripple for years. To you negroes out here using that lame "hold your vote" strategy, have you realized that shit has never worked or has been tested to be effective?

I have been in favor of term limits for the same reason for quite sometime.

I am now in favor of term limits for federal judges as we now see the intent of lifetime appointments have been corrupted

We know how all this got started in Cali in the first place.

The rules were specifically meant to keep guns out of our hands.

Facts! The entire system is designed to prevent blacks from obtaining and taking advantage of their right to firearms. The game has been rigged against us since being stolen. The original intent of the 2A was to have a secret army in case GB sailed across the sea… after the civil war, the narrative was more to keep an advantage over “freed” blacks, now referenced as “the criminals”. They already won the game.. our community is eager to kill each other, hates unity, and believes criminal life is a respectable purpose in life.

and lets not forget that Scalia was a "orginalist " who decided that the constitution in that specific case could be interpreted in modern times. Hypocrite....

Republicans - Let's honor history and tradition for the sake of protecting a wrongly interpreted and outdated 2nd amendment

Republicans - Let's not honor history and it's impact by limiting Black voters and eliminating the teaching of Black history in America

I totatlly concur!!

if a crook thinks you holding, you instantly

are removed from his easy mark list,

and thats all they want are easy marks...

Supreme Court strikes down New York law limiting guns in public.
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a New York law that placed strict limits on carrying guns outside the home, saying it was at odds with the Second Amendment.

The ruling was only the court’s second major statement on the scope of the individual constitutional right to keep and bear arms and its first on how the right applies to firearms in public places. The decision has far-reaching implications, particularly in cities that had sought to address gun crimes by putting restrictions on who can carry them.

Maryland chang
Maryland is the smae way. At least it was a few years ago when I was looking at getting one. You need to show a good reason to carry a gun. I thought the law woulc change when we got a republican governor but it didn't.
Maryland changed the law in 2017, to a“shall issue” state. In MD you can get a CC permit 1 of 4 ways, 1) You have a TS clearance 2) You have a business, 3) You have a good and substantial reason 4) You’re an active LE officer or retired. Each have their requirements, but all have the same obvious ones such as you can’t have a felony, you can’t have any type of restrictions upon you, and you can’t be pending any legal charges/actions.

I tell everyone who registers for my MD CC Permit the easiest method is to have a TS clearance, followed having a registered business with at least 5-6 months of banking documents. You’ll have no luck getting a permit if you’re going with “good and substantial reason”.

Unfortunately even with term limits these people in Congress would do what they do now when they lose their seat. Become a lobbyist advocating for the same people who paid them off when they were in Congress

I can definitely see that happening too but maybe not across the board

:bravo: :bravo: :bravo:

Subways about to be a lot more polite.
They will probably say its not allowed on subways...in DC you can't carry on the Metro

Maryland this is coming to you real soon...law is about to change big time...shit, DC took the hit and started allowing CCW in an attempt to stop this but it happened any way

Getting the CCW in DC is a pain and I expect NYC to follow suit...expect a bunch of documentation, nothing automated and having to physically go into a specific police station and join a long ass line

Once SCOTUS decides though, isn't that pretty much it, unless the city gives it another try with a same but different law?

States can amend it, but then it will go thru courts and get challenged.

Congress has power of SCOTUS and can write a law overruling their decision…but we all know that ain’t gonna happen no time soon.

I'm interested to see how NJ reacts. They're almost as strict as NY in many regards and in other aspects are worse.

As for getting a CCW in NY, it's already that bad now. My boy in Mt Vernon went through it and took him over a year to get his. And that's with him constantly checking in to see if he could get his appointments pushed up :smh:

Yea DC a whole PITA.. they actually have an online automated form, but requires you to come in and fill the same shit out in person by appointment only. I had an appointment at 1300 (1pm) them MFs had a line longer than Chick-fil-A, and had the nerve to be all upset cause asked WTF did I have to make an appointment for if it’s going to be 3hrs before you can get to me? It was like 3:45 by the time they called me up.
