{The Official 2021-22 NBA Thread} - Finals: Warriors vs Celtics…{4-2 advantage warriors } Dubs NBA champs, Curry MVP

Do I think that Steph could leave the warriors, go play with former top 5 draft picks and have similar success - absolutely... Lebron is an all-time great, but much of his succuss to me is attributed to his physical size... If Steph was his size shit we'd be talking GOAT conversation... Closing seconds who do I trust to hit the game winner - Steph all day whether it be a jump shot or he takes it to the rack... Lebron ehhhh - taking it to the rack yeah, a jump shot, nahhh

Ehhhhh... Wiggins(people wrote him off from previous years and shitted on him for not wanting to get vaccinated) Poole (bruh came from the G League, no fan expected his game to have that impact), and Thompson (no one knew what kind of player he would be after 2yrs off the court)... But the well oiled machine you mentioned is a credit to Kerr for getting the most out of his players to compliment his superstar... That's something lebron doesn't allow, coaches to do their job - he wants to be the GM,HC, and star player

LeBron could lead your team in points, be the main rebounder, get all his teammates involved AND take and shut down the opposing best player.

That’s no knock on Steph. He’s the best ever what he’s asked to do which is shoot.

But Bron is asked to be the lead scorer, playmaker, and defender. You can’t compare them. Just let them both be great at what they do.

Yea. He checked off more boxes. Game 4 was the iconic postseason performance he was missing and the FMVP was the accolade missing. That puts him in top ten discussion.. Not GOAT talkand not leapfrogging over the likes of Tim Duncan..
Fair enough. Can't really argue as you put him in the top 10. That's why I mentioned the KD shit. Whether his fans want to admit it or not, that self-own keeps him from CURRENTLY going any higher with some people.

You see that's how the leapfrogging conversation started. You put him him the top 10 ever after this Finals performance.

If he's in the top 10, who you taking out? Who's he leapfrogging over?

We'll wait...

Fyi- he isnt in my top ten. I dont have issue with those who make argument for him in theirs tho.

Everyone in my top ten can play both sides of the ball, has multiple season/finals MVP, and has been the best player in the league at some point during their prime.

You put him him the top 10 ever after this Finals performance.
Read above..

That KD shit was a self-own. I never will get that shit. :smh: Just weird. Unnecessary. It just helped bitch ass KD.

He ain't jumping Lebron, that's for sure, but the ring and MVP have to mean something. He did it. Broke their punk ass backs on their homecourt last week.

Hell, If Bron manages another chip and MVP dragging another team to a finals win, what will that get him?

Exactly rules are rules
But again great players have joined teams all the time
No self own just got 2 rings then another without him to solidify it

Preach. It's unreal what Lebron did and that doesn't take away from other players that did and do great shit. If Luka could still eating Kielbasa and drinking vodka, he MIGHT be able to pull something like that off(excluding the defense part obviously).

BREAKING NEWS!!!!

3 Celtics who won’t be back next season after NBA Finals loss

3. The Nik Stauskas revival is probably over
Nik Stauskas making an appearance was a moment of pure joy this season. "Sauce Castillo" as he was known early in his career hadn't played in an NBA game since the 2018-19 season. But he caught on first with the Miami Heat on a 10-day contract and then with the Boston Celtics, appearing in six games for a grand total of 15 minutes. The 28-year-old wing was the No. 8 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and began his career with the Sacramento Kings, bouncing around to four other teams before eventually going overseas.

Stauskas is under contract for next season as well, at just over $2 million but that contract is nonguaranteed and wouldn't be surprising to see the Celtics either use him as salary filler in a trade or simply waive him to clear the roster spot for someone else. It was fun while it lasted but we've probably seen Stauskas in a Celtics' uniform for the last time.

2. Sam Hauser probably won't be back with the Celtics next season
Sam Hauser was among the most-used, end-of-the-bench players for the Celtics this season. The 24-year-old, undrafted rookie, appeared in 26 games for a grand total of 52 minutes and proved himself to be a strong outside shooter. He attempted a grand total of 50 shots on the season, 44 of which came from beyond the arc and he finished have made 43.2 percent of his 3s.

Still, more than half his minutes in the regular season and all of his 15 minutes during the playoffs came in garbage time — his shooting touch wasn't enough to work his way into the rotation in any meaningful way.

The Celtics have a club option for about $1.5 million next season and it's possible they decide to keep him around for another year. But the top end of the Celtics rotation is fairly locked in and if they're going to make improvements for next season it may have to be by clearing some roster spots and using them on veteran minimum contracts for players with a bit more situational value.

1. Luke Kornet will probably be looking for a new home
You can guess at Luke Kornet's importance to the 2021-22 Boston Celtics based on the fact that we don't even have a picture of him where you can clearly see his face. The veteran frontcourt player appeared in 12 games and played 85 minutes for the Celtics during the regular season, nine games and 19 total minutes in the playoffs.

Kornet also finished last season with the Celtics and found his way back after stints with the Cavaliers and Bucks earlier in the season. While he has some skill — a 7-foot-2 big who has hit 32.4 percent of his career 3s — he's also played for five different teams in his five seasons in the NBA.

Kornet's contract expired and he's an unrestricted free agent this offseason. You never know, he might find his way back for a third stint in Boston but chances are the Celtics won't have him high on their free-agent priority list.

Real talk...

I still don't understand how PER PLUS MINUS etc etc works

I think you actually sent me a link explanation I still don't get it
The easiest way to look at it is like this. Plus minus shows the impact a player or combination of players have on the court.

This metric is more about the combination of players versus a single player. It helps teams with creating lineups. Because you don’t want to put in lineups that continue to get out scored

@HeathCliff Told you Boston was not going to win if they played the way the did in the Bucks and Heat series. I just saw no way they could beat the Warriors with how inconsistent they play.

Boston has been playing this way all playoffs and no one paid attention.

lol!!

Your squad is destined to be a problem bro.

But I don't know if I agree with someone being in someone else's head as a positive

The way you describe it

if it motivates THAT PERSON TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP.

That's like saying Spike was in Reggie Miller head before he rained 3s on the Knicks

Or when Van Gundy was in MJ head before he killed the Knicks

Hold on let me stop

I'm sensing a theme develop.

Anyway you get my point

The Knicks suck.

Yeah for any of the Grizzlies to say any more at this point is foolish. They a bunch of immature clowns.

vu5IAs.jpg

They SERIOUSLY need to shut up now

This will NOT go well.

I never get this.

As a former Knick fan trust me...

That never goes well.

Sidebar: it's funny how scrubs tried to kill lebron for getting a king tattoo in high school calling. But that man actually BECAME one of the greatest players in nba history

Steph couldn't get on the team of his father's Alma mater!

Became one of the greatest players of all time

We don't celebrate that.

Yet we have literally hundreds of dudes who tattoo and tweet sh*t many in the league and don't amount to sh*t.

Those 2 getting critiqued by no ring having bench players who would be homeless in a year if ESPN fired them tomorrow.

Funny how that works

Context is key:

To be fair, Klay was asked about things that were said about them and the "Chatter". Klay said there's "Strength in Numbers" speaking about his teammates and that made him remember Jaren's tweet.

Go to the 2 minute mark.

Also to be fair, Steph and Draymond remembers everything that was said about them too. So technically every comment that was said lives rent free in their heads. :rolleyes2:

Steph said, "What are they gonna say now". They all remember what was said.
