As a stats geek I do look at +/- from time to time ... I'm a Rockets fan, I became interested in +/- back when we had Chuck Hayes aka The Chuck Wagon... That nigga +/- was always the topic of discussion on sports talk radio because of how little impact he had offensively but defensively bruh was a force... There was a lot of confusion and amazement around his consistently high +/-... It's a legit stat to measure a players impact on a nightly basis, but over an entire season or even over a month, it doesn't tell the entire story and becomes irrelevant depending on the argument

Yeah you'd have to put Steph around those types of players to have some success but you put LeBron on any team and because of his size and skills that team would become a contender, your last statement about game winner is about ONE game not a full season

Because it makes no sense, basketball is a team sport so you can't judge one players impact on the game. The only way +/- would make sense is if that one player was involved in every play on both ends of the court the whole time he was on the floor
