I completely understand what your saying. Honestly that logic is why I usually try to avoid 'best of' discussions. The NBA more than most other sport leagues is a game of eras.
If I was a GM of an expansion team during the1960s and had the choice of Steph or Bill, I'd be crazy not to pick Bill. There was no 3 point line in the 60s and half of the dribble move Curry does on the regular would probably be illegal.
That scenario changes a lot if I'm a GM in the league today with those same options. I'll say that during the time I've been an active NBA fans (90'/91' to now) the choice will be Steph 10 out of 10 times, twice on game day Sunday.
Side note: it will always be crazy to me that Bill won that city chip after chip and still had to deal with the racist bullshit. Like the same white boys who are cheering you in the fourth, turn around and refuse you service at a bar an hour later. Fucking Boston bruh

Glad he got the Finals MVP but I wish he hadn't spoken directly about finally getting one because it makes those hating analyst feel like their words mean something.
