The concept camera work unique monster interesting set up very tense moments
It was good for what it was
Idea was great execution and story sucked the end
I don't if I agree about the execution bring bad.
The tunnel scene, the opening after the attack, hiding the monster throughout that was creative and very innovative at the time

I remember the backlash in Godzilla (fair by the way and was completely wrong for GODZILLA)

I think they pulled it off REALLY well and the glimpses and the parasites...
I don't know bro I am SURE I could find a ton of reviews that appreciated all those positives among the overall weakness of the acting and story.
He had a whole online presence selling you diff type of alien species..possible origin story scenarios…diff sequel possibilities.. the online push had you thinking it was gonna be multiple movies about that night..prequel, sequel, even a movie that took place at the same time but from a diff set of characters..online push was crazy that’s why people were hype.. all for none of that shit to happen

but to be fair pretty much after that he was being called the new Spielberg and getting HUGE offers
So on THAT part I understand
He still fumbled that bag
(again I feel stupid saying that because he essentially got paid MULTI MILLIONS on 2 kinda sequels)
