Sports Hit/Miss: Yankees, White Sox benches clear after Josh Donaldson calls Tim Anderson 'Jackie' Robinson

It's not racist but Anderson was being mocked and he knew it, which is why he got upset, it's like someone calling Broner, Mayweather.
Being mocked is one thing but calling is racism is a whole other thing. And the manager Tony Larusso of all people calling is racism is hilarious. He the same dude that was telling people its other ways to protest, that his players ain't going to do that. He said a bunch of other shit that sounds like a Trump supporter as well smh lol.

He was being a sarcastic flippant cac. Calling him Jackie as a way to be passive aggressive for him calling out racism in Baseball. You can almost hear the cacs sarcastic “Ok Jackie” with a smirk almost like let’s go Branden. It’s bullshit and it’s a way cacs act racist without saying blatant racist shit, then they turn around and have a perfect excuse as to why they didn’t mean anything by it while they giggle with fellow cacs behind everybody’s backs. Fuck all those crackas

punch him even if he right...I look for reasons to cuss and abuse a muffickin Cac....brah
Same thing I said bruh.

Wasn't Anderson comment towards being Mr Robinson as dealing with all the racist fans, media, players and management. Not saying he is on the same level as him but the same racist treatment in 2022.

And for this white dude to say it to him is straight up mocking and proving exactly what he said.

Problem is people hear the part of the story they want to.

Hmmmm…how is that offensive if he said it about himself? Guess I need more context? Was he being racist or saying “you aint no Jackie Robinson”?
Tim Anderson is no Jackie Robinson by a long shot. For him to compare himself to Jackie Robinson is offensive and he deserves every bit of criticism, teasing. He needs to stop being such a sensitive bitch.
Man it's offensive that fool called himself Jackie Robinson in the first place; don't be all sensitive and shit after that ridiculous ass statement. That cac should've called him a damn jackass too
I'm confused

So calling someone a legendary player is supposed to be offensive? and it's racist?

and Tim Anderson called himself that :smh:
This is what Tim Anderson was referring to by calling himself the new Jackie Robinson.

Back in 2019, Anderson referred to himself as “today’s Jackie Robinson” as he navigated what he considered to still be difficult racial obstacles that existed in today’s game. Whether you agree with that or not, you’re not Tim Anderson and you don’t know what he’s feeling as one of the few black men in MLB today.

I'm not trying to hear this bullshit Jackie Robinson went through hell. Absolutely nobody in the modern era should be comparing themselves to Jackie Robinson in any kind of way. That shit is insulting

Exactly. He took off on that cracker and thats fine. But calling you what you call yourself is not racist.

That cac knew what he was trying to do, stop giving him the benefit of the doubt.

nobody giving no benefits. aint no body in this bitch mad he got swung on. But in here, we going tell the truth. Racism comes with power. Racism is when I do not hire you for a job because your black. This is taunting and it comes with street penalties. But if you call yourself jackie and a cracker smirks jackie at you that is not racism, stop trying to force it to be.

His context made no sense. He wasn’t trying to compliment him in the heat of moment, so you gotta ask yourself what was intention to call him that during that time.

Exactly, cracker trying to wiggle out of the fact that he knew he was being sarcastic. got swung on for it.

True, but I understand his point of view.

I'm a Yankees fan for life, but I'm not buying a cac not seizing an opportunity to say some racist shit in a snide way.
Especially if he knows he has a built-in cover story in case he has to explain himself.
I have been going back and forth about it. I'm not sure it's racist but I wouldn't put it past them. But why is Tim Anderson referring himself to Jackie anyways? I don't like that either. It's all some bullshit though...

I in the same boat.

But I'm tired of white folk ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT getting the benefit of the doubt

When we never ever do.

At this point whatever he MEANT?

He just shouldn't have said it

Period

And they just lost a damn double header

When they were riding a Damm season long hot streak.

So no matter what they lost because of the pressure brought on by all this.

Yankees don't DO THIS SH*T

He should have just kept his mouth shut.

Because he’s a young black and rich

I think James Byrd, the Move organization, Michael brown, and many others would argue that they were treated just as bad as anyone in the Jim Crow era.
