WWE was forced to change the planned main event of tonight’s (May 16) Raw show, after Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the taping.

The announced main event was to see Becky Lynch, Asuka, Nikki ASH, Doudrop, Sasha Banks and Naomi face off in a six pack challenge, with the winner earning a Raw Women’s Championship opportunity against Bianca Belair at Hell In A Cell.

However, early into the show, Becky Lynch spoke to Adam Pearce, telling him that Sasha and Naomi had gone home, and the main event was changed to simply Becky Lynch vs Asuka.

Per PWInsider, Sasha and Naomi walking out was not an angle, as the word making the rounds backstage at the taping is that Sasha took issue with some of the planned creative for the original main event.
Banks reportedly had a meeting with Vince McMahon, and the belief is that when McMahon didn’t choose to change direction on the plans, Banks made the decision to leave the taping, with Naomi leaving with Banks.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), Naomi was the one originally planned to win the match.

This is funny considering how Vince literally tears and re-writes shows at the last minute and even goes as far as throwing away matches that were announced the week prior and NOW he's issuing out statements apologizing for not delivering promised matches when he now has a scapegoat in the form of two black women.

Sasha is one of the reasons I got back into wrestling
She loves the business and is arguably the best woman in the ring in the world

but for whatever reason the WWE treats her like shit compared to Charlotte, Becky and Ronda. I wonder what they have that she lacks…
She taking shitty title runs and programs to make of them. She is always relegated to the tag division

I don’t know what happened but based on the WWE track record with her, the women’ tag division and blk wrestlers in general…I am giving Sasha and Naomi the benefit of the doubt

And I didn't like Corey Graves taking a shot at them during the broadcast calling them unprofessional. I can just imagine Vince in the headset telling him to say it.

And that statement isn't even well written or purposed. Again, I am picturing someone scrambling to throw it together trying to get ahead of it. Fuck around and Bianca gonna follow her homegirls.

Oh and I picture Vinnie Mac and the crew needing someone black to say something negative about them to not look like they are against black women......queue Booker T

There's no real women's tag teams in the company.

I bet they were booking Doudrop and Nikki super strong to pin One of the champs and not book Asuka weak.

The women's tag belts don't mean shit to Vince and company and this was a last straw in guessing.

Top females in the company right now is Sasha, Becky, Charlotte, Asuka and Naomi. Using two of them as a stepping stone will piss a lot of people off

Yeah, whatever happened, it had Vince in his petty mood.

That press statement sounds like bullshit.

I think Sasha and Naomi were given a breakup angle and they weren't with it.

Booker T: "...but we got a black woman champion in Bianca"

Her title reign I really feel like is just a place holder for Becky or Ronda. But Vince isn't going to give either of them a release, hell I doubt he'd fire them! Cause them jumping to Impact, which already has a solid womens division and would be even better with an addition of a Naomi or Sasha. Or AEW, which could REALLY use the likes of a Naomi or Sasha.

Basically the hottest act and wants to end the group with another betrayal act.....

...I mean Hurt Business didn't make it a year! This is what this motherfcuker does with black talent! Fcuk, if it ain't working he puts the brakes on shyt that is clearly working! How long was Nikki ASH and Rhea a tag team before they finally split them up? Compare that to the run Naomi and Sasha has? Hell Sasha and Bailey too!

Since this is essentially the second time she's walked out of WWE, I'm wondering if this is the last we'll see of Sasha in a wrestling company. She definitely doesn't need wrestling, as Hollywood is calling.

Naomi, due to her Samoan connection will still have a job but she'll be back to jobbing.

Props to Naomi for backing up her tag partner but she probably backing the wrong horse. Sasha is the star. Naomi isn't.

I never understood why WWE had Women's Tag Team Championships in the first place. There's not enough talent to justify those belts. Secondly, Sasha needs to either go Hollywood or fuck off. Her drama queen act is beyond old.

Brischoff feelings are still hurt.

I don't think CM Punk's signing is the biggest flop, however I don't think it was worth the money they spent. Especially if guys like MJF are making peanuts compared to Punk/Danielson.....

Yes, Punk's signing popped the ratings a few times but it didnt have the longevity AEW hoped it would.

The Punk signing may backfire on AEW if their OG signees opt out from signing again with the company since they spent so much on the old WWE guys. I definitely see MJF leaving. Sammy too.

All that said, I don't think Punk's signing is any worse than Bishoff signing Ultimate Warrior....

But I thought Becky said WWE had this best women's division in wrestling :roflmao:

Been saying this for the longest time about the Women's Tag Team Championship. I don't see Sasha as a drama queen she just won't keep quiet that Vince and other's still see's the women's division as a joke especially with women of color.

Can we get the Black women's side before declaring them the problem?

I'm siding with them not only because of that, but also because people be complaining all the time about how wrestlers don't stand up to Vince about shitting booking enough, only to ostracize them when they actually do it and that shit is toxic.

If they felt inclined to stand up about it, it probably was some shit booking, especially given WWE's track record for mishandling the booking of Naomi, the women's tag division and black champions in general.
