i was wondering wtf was going on when i paid 4.89 for a dozen eggs that normally wouild have been 1.84

I noticed an uptick as well but figured it was the general supply chain issue.

I'm buying more non perishables from Costco to get the bulk rate and to stock up now before prices rise even more.

Absolutely. Now is the time to load up on non perishable staples especially if you can get them in bulk. Then price fluctuations won't affect you as much.

I paid about 30.00 for ten pounds of chicken wings a month ago. 24 for 3 huge packages of thighs. Got proteins on ice to last through the summer.

Chicken
Ground Turkey
Ground Beef
Fish
Shrimp
Beans

Rice
Potatoes
Pasta
Corn

You can freeze loaves of bread and take out when needed.

Just gotta buy perishables like fruit, veggies as needed and I'm good for a while.

The crazy thing is...
Even though the price of chicken at the grocery stores have gone through the roof
The price of chicken at fast food places have mostly remained the same (at least here in North Carolina)

I just go to Bojangles, when I want to eat some chicken
The price of a 12 piece chicken box has remained the same, for the past 2 years
I don't know why they haven't raised prices drastically, but I'm not complaining :dunno:

Learn (YouTube) how to make and freeze soups, dehydrate foods, hell get your girl into canning and making preserves if she's from the country or islands. There's a lot you can do to cut down on food waste. I'm from South Carolina, we wasted nothing growing up.

Thanks to WFH I've become a damn good cook if I do say so myself. Amazing what you can do with a Ninja Grille.

Not telling you what to do, just speaking in general.

publicly traded companies with shareholders don't like to take losses for anyone or anything..so I'd be wondering..

I swear they manufacture this shit just to drive up the prices
Yep at some point they are going to have to do price controls because this is getting ridiculous. Although They did have a severe infection of bird flu with a lot of chickens.

If so, they created that shit like they created covid-19. Somebody in a lab doing some shit they shouldn't be doing
