TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

So far how you like Reacher?

Winning Time is good. Crazy and apparently every one depicted in it hates it. They make interesting choices with filters and 4th wall curious to hear your take.

I only watched the first few episodes of Barry but I liked it.

I gotta finish Saul I forgot where I left off but that was one show I couldn't binge I loved immersing myself in that world.

Hold on the flight attendant was actually good?

Really enjoying Reacher. It will be interesting to see how the last 3 eps played out.

Yes - love when they break the 4th wall on shows like Winning Time and others.

Definitely check out the rest of Barry, Playa. Well worth it. Good mix of the darkly comedic & drama / violence. Easy episodes to get through too as they're all around 30 mins per. If I remember correctly, they were shooting this upcoming season (and the following one) concurrently. Hopefully that means less of a huge break before the follow-up season.

Saul is great and has proven to be a worthy prequel to Breaking Bad. Really surprised they pulled this off so well. Could have easily been some bullshit.

Yes ... Flight Attendant was pretty decent. Enjoyed the way the story unravelled. If I remember correctly (listened to an interview with Kaley Cuoco) - she had picked up the book at the airport, and talked to one of the people in her circle / production company about adapting it for TV. Thought that was cool. Man, she's set for life off that $ she made on Big Bang Theory. They got paaaaaaaaaid.

It took me a minute to get used to it. I thought they used it too much initially

NOW I like it.

Regarding the 4th wall, right?

Really liked how it was used on House of Cards back in the day.

Damn shame how Spacey turned out to be a complete piece of shit over the decades.

I am NOT a fan of that unless in the hands of a skilled director/editor

It REALLY took me out of the show for awhile till I got used to it and they toned it down

It made me feel like I watching an episode of Benny Hill.

But now I got the feel of it and they using much more sporadically and effectively

You know what is crazy?

I NEVER saw one single episode of house of cards

and if I remember correctly wasn't that he one of the first ever series to release the entire season at once?

That's good to hear that Winning Time toned it down.

That's interesting re: House of Cards. We caught about 60% of that series or so. I think we missed the final 1 - 2 seasons. Probably the last 2. Yes - it drew plenty of eyes and attention to Netflix. Lots of good acting on that series with the seasonal binge format.

I always heard Spacey was damn near BRILLANT on there

I might have to go back and study that one despite learning about what a monster he was behind the scenes

Yeah not only did the main big bang cast make so many millions through the 12 seasons but they'll be getting multi millions in syndication checks for yrs to come. They're probably the last sitcom to print money like this since the landscape of tv has changed to more dramas being popular as well as syndication not being a thing on these streaming platforms now so the actors are gonna need to get their money upfront

Good point about the changing tv landscape now. They definitely earned those big bucks considering the ratings and ad dollars they were generating for CBS & associates. I think I recall hearing 2 or 3 of the main cast even took slight pay cuts to boost / increase the pay for the other cast members.

Yea Penny, Sheldon and Leonard took pay cuts for Howard, Raj, Bernadette and Amy to get boosts to be closer to their salary per ep. The big bang syndication is gonna be on that rare level of the Seinfelds and Friends. Thing is I never watched Seinfield and Friends despite how popular they were but watched all of Big Bang and liked it

Props to them - that's a solid move.

That syndication money is no joke. Especially for popular shows that live on for many years in countless markets.

I only caught a little bit of Big Bang Theory and Friends in their final seasons.

Great NCAA final / championship game.

Enjoyed the series finale for Peaky Blinders. It ran about an hour & 20 minutes, whereas your typical episode runs 50 - 58 mins. Recommend the series for anyone who has been meaning to check it out. My dad's got his GF watching it - and she's about 2/3rd's the way in (on season 4). Seasons are short and run 6 episodes.

7.5/10

This series came up on my recommendations back in December and it debuted in January. I got around to watching it over the past few days and finished this morning.

Before going on, the series was cancelled by Netflix the last week of March, so you will have to watch it as a limited series. The series got a lot of good reviews and fan response. It ranked high on Netflix's Top 10 in its specific genre's for the majority of February. Netflix has its own "Nielson Ratings" that they don't release, so being the series was not a Grand Slam on its debut with high viewership...they cancelled it, similar to a lot of series they do.

Its a 8 part series and each episode runs about 50 minutes. Watching the first episode they throw a lot at you that will get you hooked into the series quickly. What is thrown out in the first episode is answered thru-out the season to the finale.

I looked it up and the producers had set it up as a somewhat anthology series with each season depicting a different story but connecting everything together. They themselves were shocked Netflix cancelled it. While watching the series, thru-out here and there you will pick on things that could have led to a different plot in future seasons if they had proceeded.

There is a good amount of suspense and a few predictable low level jump scares, nothing to get excited about.

The last episode was interesting and with how some of the scenes played out, the series possibly could have led to a connection with "Stranger Things", when you watch it you should catch it.

For the militants, the two main characters is a Black Man and White Woman. There is no sexual anything between them or sexual tension. You may get pissed off seeing the Black Man putting the cape on.

For the gay agenda trackers, the Black main characters, White male friend comes off like he has some "Sugar in his Tank". Nothing is shown or implied with him.

For the Thirsty, the White Female lead character looks like your typical Becky you find working at Target. There is no nudity or sexy anything thru-out. There is one Brunette White chick who is decent looking that periodically pops up thru-out the series.

The series is based off a popular PodCast

Synopsis

An archivist takes a job restoring damaged videotapes, but finds themselves getting pulled into a mystery involving the missing director and a mysterious cult that they were documenting.
