The suit accuses the fast-food chain of making its food look bigger in ads compared with what it serves up to customers in reality.

It's not the kind of Whopper Burger King wants to be associated with.

A South Florida lawyer has filed a federal lawsuit seeking class-action status alleging that Burger King has misled customers by portraying its food as being much larger compared with what it has served to customers in real life.

The suit, brought by attorney Anthony Russo, alleges Burger King began inflating the size of its burgers in images around September 2017. Before that, the suit claims, Burger King "more fairly" advertised its food products.

Today, the size of virtually every food item advertised by Burger King is "materially overstated," the lawsuit says. Russo and the plaintiffs he is representing single out advertisements for Burger King’s trademark Whopper, saying the entire burger is 35 percent larger than the real-life version, with double the meat than what is actually served.

The suit cites as witnesses multiple YouTube users who specialize in food reviews and Twitter users who complained about their orders.

It's not the first time Burger King has been accused of inflating food in its ads. The United Kingdom's advertising authority cited the company 12 years ago for burgers that had height and thickness "considerably less" than what was advertised.

The suit, which seeks class-action status, demands monetary damages and a court order requiring Burger King to end what it says are its deceptive practices.

My partner went her BK fish Friday, he gave me one… I said bro look at this, loooook at the fish patty… it’s horribly small
You beat me to it.
I remember when they called it the "The Whaler" "The Big Fish" to "BK fish" which is significantly smaller.
McDonald's have reduced the portion size of their sandwiches as well.

For example, 15 years ago their "Filet o Fish" was a decent size.
As the years progressed they've reduced the size of filet patty as well as the slice of cheese that went from a whole slice
to 3/4 of a slice, To a 1/2 slice, To now where it looks like 1/4 of a slice.

Really? The whoppers are huge to me.
People are crazy..
No... you ain't been paying attention cause it really didn't matter to you.... it's not really of importance to me.... but I noticed a definite difference in size over time.... just like some five gallon buckets of shit at Home Depot now hold only four gallons, but you don't notice until you sit one of those buckets next to an old five gallon one.... all companies will downsize as price of ingredients/materials goes up instead of raising prices

sidebar: Even Dunkin Donuts are smaller.... years ago I worked at one for close to five years before the fire department.... I remember the exact weight of a raw donut when rolled out and hand cut... ounce and three quarters.... they're smaller now... potato chips got bags that are a little smaller with less chips in them too

When I worked there we didn't do it like that.
However I know different places are different.

While you are correct, cheese is added and wrapped then they are thrown in a Nuke box for a few seconds. At least when I worked there many years ago that was the way we did it.

BK burgers are not smoke grilled any more, they are microwaved and they now use smoke flavoring. I think they made the change around 2007.
As a former manager at one.... they were never smoke grilled.... they come frozen, then are flame broiled on a metal conveyor that goes through the flames.... and they are still flame broiled...... meth is a fucked up drug for you to use.... use fentanyl next time.... and make sure that you triple dose on it... be sure to use the strong shit when you do

.

This is what I remember?
My boy Willy used to the best at it.
I handled the chicken myself.
He lined them up so well and got the grill marks in nice and straight!

Sue all of them joints cause the food doesn't even look the same or taste the same;Mcdonalds,BK,Wendys,White Castle,DQ shiiiit taste terrible and the condition they come in is even worse looks like Stevie Wonder is back there preparing shit for his 5th grade field trip.

I don't eat Mcdonald's no more but the rest of em I have to have a coupon or be going for someone else to eat that shit.Mind you I ate Mcdonald's once a week growing up or some type of fast food and shit was ok...you would Microwave it later and eat it.Now....if you don't eat it right after they hand it to you,it goes in the garbage cause that's what it taste like after ten minutes.

I haven't been to any of them in years now. I might eat some while on a road trip but that's about it.

Breakfast cereals are the worst though for reducing portion sizes.

My first job in high school was at Burger King and as you said the beef patties were flamed broiled on a metal conveyor.

The only places as far as fast foods are concerned seems to be mom n pops joints... the size stayed the same at most joints i go to, but the price has risen... im ok with that..thats y i cant understand bk or micky d's.... go up on the price but i still need the same product as a consumer...

:lol:its not just Burger King. Every processed food product has been made smaller. For at least 10 years. And the prices has increased over the years. I remember the lil Debbie snacks, used to be huge. Only for a quarter, now them shits is half the size. And literally double or sometimes triple the price.
