What's going on with episode 1. How does this kid tie into Earn, Paper Boi and crew?

I caught it by mistake just surfing channels and after watching it was happy how it ended but that was a hell of a memory; leave them cac alone no matter what
 
The first episode "Three Slaps," reminded me of the movie "Get Out," but seen through a black child's eyes. With the exception of the black social worker (and of course his mother and grandfather), everyone seem to believe living with the white couple would be a dream world for Loquareeous, but it turned out to be a nightmare.
I am surprised nobody mentioned the strange stories and history about Lake Lanier (the white guy on the boat was telling the truth).
