Rivers spoke about Thybulle following the loss, and he gave a straightforward answer about his defensive stalwart.
“The number one thing is he has to be dynamic defensively every night because if he isn’t, then it’s hard to play him,” coach Doc Rivers said via Sixers Wire. “It’s the same thing with an offensive player. I had Lou Williams. If Lou Williams didn’t score, why would I have him on the floor, right? So just look at that in reverse.”
He’s referencing his high-scoring guard Lou Williams who was a member of the Lob City Clippers. Williams could score with the best of them, but he was a major liability on the defensive end.
If Thybulle can’t develop a more consistent shot, he might find himself on the bench watching the end of a game more often than usual. With that said, Rivers says that when Thybulle is playing strong defense, it’s enough to keep him playing.
“When Matisse is really effective defensively, even if they’re helping off of him, I think he gives us enough that we can still be good,” he said.

This is true. Though come playoff time it's gonna be impossible to keep Thybulle off the floor cause he's that damn good defensively. The thing I like about Matisse is although he's not a good shooter he's not afraid to take open shots........UNLIKE THE BEIGE BITCH. He has worked on his shooting and will continue to get better at it. IT'S CRITICAL THAT ALTHOUGH HE'S NOT GOOD AT SHOOTING HE DOESN'T SHY AWAY FROM IT IN GAMES. YOU DON'T GET BETTER RUNNING AWAY FROM SOMETHING YOU STRUGGLE WITH. When he can consistently hit those corner 3's it will make the Sixers even better. In fact, I'd go as far as to say thats the most important thing for this team in the offseason. Cause Thybulle's not going anywhere the next 4 years as he should stay here. He develops a nice consistent jumper and your looking at the next Boston Strangler.......ANDREW TONY 2.0.

looks like he needs to be shooting this offseason, because Andre Roberson isn't going to work in today's NBA

i don’t see how this can be called a dirty play or even uneccesary play because Smart just saw a lose ball and was going for it, Steph didn’t even have the ball or was in a better position than Smart to get it

Listen starting at the 1:45 mark of KD crying about being doubled teamed so much (I think it was 32+ times) during the game, said the Mavs must been desperate for a win because they started off the season struggling and saw the Nets was short-handed…..Nick Wright started laughing and told maybe he should ask Steph Curry how it feels

Broussard on there trying to start that it was KD out there by himself excuse talk again

You really defending him when on the same play he kicked Klay Thompson in the fucking arm to commit a foul
on the same play?
LOL

The ball is loose, Smart and Curry are standing right beside each other, both go to get the ball and Smart dives for the ball, the headlines says “Smart JUMPS into Currys’ legs was it a DIRTY play or not”. I saw the headlines/comments before i saw video and thought Curry had the ball dribbling it and Smart dived into him trying to play defense, the video says all this dirty play unnecessary move talk is bs

It's always been understood you don't dive like that at ppl.

Because you can hurt them just like he did

Like we got on bev for hurting Westbrook

Like I said on the same play he kicked Klay in the air and I know that if it was Draymond who dove at Tatum and injured him and then kicked Jalen brown in the air in the same play he'd been ejected and I seriously doubt there'd be any conversation excusing him for anything.

But hey it's all good

Right. I can somewhat forgive the first play if the second thing didn’t happen right after that shit.

Plus, it’s Smart. He is in the realm of Pat Bev in doing shit that get people hurt.

Any other person in the league that dove for a loose ball is nearly excusable. But them two niggas are mad extra.
